“If I had to pick one place to backpack that I would have to backpack for the rest of my days it would have to be Baxter State Park.I have never been there before but I have see so many cool pictures and herd so many good things about it.I wish I could move to Maine ya know the clean air clean everything.....Where I live it sucks the air is bad there are 5 steel mills in my area and plus I live right by Gary.Well any way has anyone here in the TT ever gone backpacking there and if so whats it like?It has been on my wish list for some time to go backpacking is such a cool place.

If you can get to Kentucky or Tennessee, you could leave your car at someone's house and ride the rest of the way. I've heard a lot about this park, don't pass up a chance to hike it unless you have no other choice!”

I just got a book, Hiking the Cedar Mesa, by Peter Tasoni. It gives tons of trails among the Anasazi ruins. too Cool!!

“The Adirondacks of NY has everything I'd ever need in a hiking area (in the Eastern US, of course), and you could prolly hike there the rest of your life and not hike the same trail twice.”

The Adirondacks are where I did my first true backpacking trip. Going back there is like going to visit an old friend. I get so excited after I pass over the park border!!!”
