“A good question. I tried to get there throught the Forestry Service, but did not make it.”

“Talked to a Federal computer specialist. A hacker did break into the Dept. of Interior system and breached several firewalls. At the request of BIA a judge ordered all public access shut down until a damage assessment and fix could be completed. This is a real hassle for the other Federal and state agencies also as all the weather data from the nationwide network of RAWS is stored on a DOI system. Some back doors are available to other government agencies but not all data can be accessed that way.”
