Oh my brothers, I bring good news. My buck fever has broken,..... for now!! Endless seasons of waking up "at the crack of ass" in the morning to pursue the "One" have ended.

This is how the day unfolded. It was Sunday the 2nd of December. It was mostly sunny and the temperatures were in the mid-60's. I left the
house rather late, 11 A.M. to be precise and headed for the farm were I was to meet some others. They were late as expected.

The farm is mostly soybean fields and fallow pasture land with cedar groves and brush in the drainage slews, that is all framed in by hardwood forest. The hardwoods and cedar groves were beyond the fields that needed crossing.

We all started out about 1 P.M. into the fields. Our plan was to use the wind to our advantage. Two would push towards one down wind shooter. They waited while I walk out and around to where we hope to drive any deer. I posted up and waited..... and waited some more. Some time went by and finally the drivers where in sight and nothing had come from it. We sat a spell, talking quietly about plans for the rest of the day. I stayed put while they went to the other side of the farm. About hour later as I sat nestled in the shade between two cedars along came the "ONE" I have been waiting for. He was seen before heard. The creek that separated us drowned out what noise he may have made as he gently tippy toed thru the woods.

The wind was in my favor. Moving as little as possible I shoulder my rifle to studied my quarry. What I saw was a health looking buck. He had a long round body and rack to match. When I saw the six solid long tines, I knew there would be two more hidden closer to the brow. I pulled up slowly from the scope to further study shooting avenues and his trajectory coming down the hill, never once lossing sight of him. I knew in order to get the best shot I would have to wait for him to come thru some of the thickets and into the hardwoods that had no under story. He did just that. Having place the cross hairs back on him I followed him till I thought the time was right.

That moment finally came and with a soft short whistle to freeze the deer followed by a bang of the thunder stick my deer fell where slain. I'm grateful most of all to the crispness of the kill. One shot!

He is being mounted and will be cherished forever.

You know, when you login it stores a cookie in your browser that allows you to access it. I'm sure there's a way to allow others to view it because others here have. I don't use webshots, though, so I don't know it.

I had a simular problem when I used to use Photopoint. If I was logged in and copy/pasted the addie it would come up with the BS authorization thing. If I logged out first and had the thing in guest mode and THEN copy/pasted, it was fine.
