“Smiley, my bag is a toasty DOWN bag. Very fluffy and cozy, its got a real nice baffle to stop those nasty drafts from coming through the zipper. It has a nice down collar to prevent breezes from entering around your neck and its rated to -5F. You know you want it. Plus all the cool kids are doin it these days...LOL

Tarabull, I'd love to go. But I dont have the $$$ for the kennel and would like to have a nice daddy/daughter wknd to jump on beds, eat cake all day and ride the dogs like a horse. Plus we can watch John Wayne films all day...”

“I receiveced some good news/bad news in the mail today. The good news, the last couple in our group of friends has finally (after a number of years) decided to tie the knot. The bad news, they decided to get married the 3rd weekend of January, so that means I ain't gonna be able to makes this trip. :(

I read the goings on with Waterloo, birch. That is such great news.”

“So, I found out my momma will be back from Florida by then. So, I'm not sure she'd be too happy if we all showed up at her doorstep. However, my dad can be bribed with alcohol. He was drinking Mad Dog 20 20 straight out of the bottle last weekend. I've never seen my dad do that. I think he was ticked off at my mom, and he was trying to get even with her. Yeah, we're not disfunctional or anything. :)”

“I'm on the fence again on this trip. Went window shopping at REI yesterday looking at new sleeping bags. I've got some christmas money, maybe I'll buy a new one. And maybe I'll come play with you guys that weekend. Decisions, decisions...”

Smiley - Did you buy a bag w/ your Christmas money?

I'm so excited that I get to try out my new bag!! I sat outside at my parents house for about 20 minutes the day I got it... I was toasty.

I think I'll be taking a half day that day so I can get up there early enough to make sure that any snow is cleared so everyone can get in. If there is tons and tons of snow, I'll have to hang around Blanchard till I find some nice fellow to bring his plow over!”

“Sorry, no can do. That's a grading weekend for me. I've got to get all my stuff done for a Monday morning deadline. Gotta stick close to home.

“I'm still on the fence. You guys camping both nights? I definitly have to be home relatively early on Sunday, actually to my sister's house, for a family thing.

I didn't buy a bag yet. Maybe I'll look around this weekend. I've already spent the money anyway...mostly on hockey tickets and beer.”

“I'm still planning on going. I don't know how many tricks I'll have to teach you though! Or for that matter if it'll even be cold! Rotten weather we're having.”

“Extended forecast for Blanchard shows the temp in the 30s every day Friday to Friday. W/ snow on Saturday (this week). Hopefully, they'll get a few inches of snow.”

“Hey RL- didn't you post something once about the park in Novi that was under consideration to be given up to resolve the HUGE lawsuit with a developer? The "Friends of Novi Parks" or whatever they called themselves sued the city to stall the turnover, and the judge told the city the issue had to either go in front of the voters or the city planning commission had to take the park propterty out of the city Master PLan. Last night, the planning commission unanimously voted to change the master plan, giving up 95 acres of park, and thus saving the taxpayers (me) bucking up for the $70 Million lawsuit. My old company was actually involved in the lawsuit, so I knew a little about it but I didn't make much of an effort to learn what's been going on recently. Short sighted politicians dragged this out so long (when the city was really in the wrong to begin with) that the interest accrued to $70 million. I read in the Free Press that the developer now may not accept the park land because of the delays by the "Friends of the Novi Parks". Go figure.”
