Snowshoeing Santiam Pass Oregon
I'm planning on spending 2 nights snowcamping in the Santiam Lk./Berley Lakes area. I'll be able to go anytime between Monday Dec.17-Friday Dec.21. I have the necessary community gear we'll need; only problem is I cannot carry it all myself. All you need to bring is yourself and your personal equipment. Please respond soon if you are interested. I will gladly give you a ride if you live in the Portland/Salem area. I live in Newberg. I have a roomy 3 person tent, so bring a friend if you want.

Greg.

Hey Whiskey, that's a fun trip. My son and I did it last year. I'd show you some pictures but photo point doesn't seem to be responding.

BTW - I'm in Newberg as well.

Check this out...
I had some guy respond to this same post on the Backpacker Magazine website. At first he was interested; but then he says he's not because he just watched a documentary on Bigfoot in the Pacific Northwest...He seemed as if he was serious about being spooked..?

I'm still looking
I'm still hoping someone responds. I can leave as early as Weds. morning if someone responds sometime today. I'll cover the gas, just bring a couple/three meals and your own snacks. There are over 78 inches of snow at nearby HooDoo Skibowl; I'm telling you this will kick ass!!!

Berley Lake Pics
I moved some of my pics to another service. Here are ones of a trip to the area Whiskey is talking about. This was a trip my son and I took last February.

Is that Mt. Jefferson in the pics CC? I thought the pointy one was Mt. Hood.

so that's what modern snowshoes look like..

Hey Whiskey, did you find anybody to go with you?

Pointy Peaks
The pointy one through the meadow is Mt. Washington. The other peak through the trees is Three Fingered Jack. Actualy, Mt. Hood is probably the least pointy of the Oregon Cascade Volcanoes.

Charlie,
I wonder how long this photo service will be around?
