my spelling is sick
Are their any hard-core lady backpackers out there that would hike across the United States or around the world?

the ? has nothing to do with my spelling. it's been a long day, and something's bound to go. Usually my spellings first. Just covering my hide.

Is running girl a h-c bp chic?

Hi Girty, I read in another post that Balgair79 ((?)a girl) wants to hike the whole world. That sounds very hardcore.

Yeah, stanlee, wasn't she planning to go with a former special forces guy (or something like that) that she had never actuall met? That would mek for quite an adventure for the US leg for girty.

I’d hike the distance but not the territory. I go out for the experience of exquisite wilderness. Hiking across the country means hiking farms, pastures, cities and roads. No thanks to those. There is the bill collector to pay also. If I had the dough I would stay out on the trail much of the year.

carabiner,

It's just something one dreams about. Why? Is it something you would actually do? Or at least give a thought to. I believe it would be extremely rare to find a person that would actually set forth on a hike of this magnitude. To spend a year, or two, or more on a trip and make it your life is as hard-core as backpacking gets, in my opinion. Are you saying that you are one of those rare souls?

I would seriously consider a 2 month trek (E to W rims) through the Canyon. It's the only terrian I feel familiar enough with to do. Saying you're going to hike across the continent...well, there's a whole lot of different terrain out there.
Maybe with the right person. I highly doubt I would ever meet that person though. Ü

I'd go out for a few months, but wouldn't want to go thru civilization every few days. (agree with mtn gal). After 30 days on the JMT, we wanted to resupply and go back. But that thing called "work" got in the way.

i agree with the rest that i'd rather stay amidst the trees and beautiful trails..but, i think if there were a mission or cause, it would be an endeavor i would consider.

Went to the page balgair, it's quite cool. Meant constructively: you may want to spell check that resume, and a few of your links go to error 404s. neat stuff, though.
