How was everyones weekend?

“Hi everyone I just wanted to know how everyones weekend was?Mine was great.Me and 4 of my hiking and backpacking club friends went backpacking in Charles C.Deam Wilderness in Hoosier National Forest and it was a blast.The Sunday it started to rain and it was great hiking the rain.There are places along the sycamore loop trail that never has water in it ad for once the water was running real good.I will be having a bunch of new pictures up on my website very soon from this trip and some other ones.Also you will get to see a picture of me aggggggggggg thats scary.Well I just wanted to know how everyones weekend was.

“I rented Planet of the Apes, I sold Xmass wreaths at the Church taht my BSA troop is chartered from, I worked on my eagle stuff, cleaned my room, hung out with my friends friday, kicked a$$ in internet Vidio games, and some other stuff.”

“Did abit of Christmas shopping then went biking on the snow. First time this year...it was a bit scary...4" of snow on top of ice, rocks and roots. Sunny day with 20F degrees. Gotta hone those skills again.”

“Snowboarding, both days. Sunny, blue skies, temps in the 30s. Got 18" on Thursday, so a lot of fresh stuff.

Lost my keys (realized it on the first lift ride up) in the parking lot Saturday, must've been right outside the truck, or maybe mine was the only Toyota in sight. Whoever found it probably set the alarm off, but left me the keys. I got back to the truck and died when I saw the driver side lock open. The alarm went off when I opened the door, and I couldn't disarm it (helmet & goggles got in the way, couldn't get my head under the dashboard to see what I was doing....embarassing!) After finding my wallet (on the front seat) and seeing the laptop in the back seat, I found the keys on the driver's seat under my back cushion (fell forward, covered keys). I usually cover everything up, but got lazy this time. I was lucky it was a honest person that found the keys!

The rest of the weekend was awesome!”

“I built an entertainment Center for the Grandkid this weekend.”

“I'm glad to see that everyone had as cool of a weekend as I did.But it's monday now and that sucks.......:(

“I had a birthday party at my house for my youngest daughter and her friends, with a craft, pinata and cake, and then my girls were in a holiday show at the church. Got most of the decorations up and the house cleaned. Relatives coming soon, AAAAAhggggg!”

“Made gingerbread bears, snowflake cookie dough and walked 7 miles. And the typical stuff, laundry, etc.”

“i had the breastest weekend ever! :-) i went to a party on Friday, and i went to a club with Tarpie and some of our friends on Saturday. and Sunday, we went to Great Falls and watched people kayak...and we went to Georgetown, and had the best fish and chips. and now i feel totally brain-dead...mission accomplished ;-)”

I have to spend two weeks in Washington next month. Staying near Georgetown. I need to find out where the "brain dead" places are. Also need to find out where to have the "breastest" time. LOL.”

Arrive Washington on 2 JAN,,will be staying one week,,,,will be back to Washington somewhere around the 16th.”

“I found an arrowhead in an area where indians were known to inhabit well over 250 years ago.”

“I met Obi for dinner at a fabulous hole-in-the-wall restaurant in Napa. It was the first I had seen him since last summer's llama-rama. He had photos from the trip that brought back great memories. It was great to see him (and the food was GREAT).”

“Start your day off right. Do it doing a job that really sucks. Get that one over with. For me, it was dragging a couple of hoses over to where the pool is, and siphoning water from the pool cover. Two nights of rains, and it was nearly half-full of rain water.

Finish it with something fun. Drag about ten gallons of water to the back of your property, and sweeten up a deer scrape some with it. Since your headlamp is in your orange UT jacket, which is in the school library, go ahead and light up a Coleman lantern. Might as well.

Get a good healthy dose of reality while you are at it. Wash a load of clothes, or maybe a good double load of towels. If you were so inclined, it would not hurt to run the vacuum some on the upstairs rugs. Making up the bed is always a good choice, but do not neglect the kitchen. That is always the first place they look, guys.

Find time to walk, even if it is just around a long block with plenty of ups and downs with some decent running if that’s what you like. Make sure you take one look at the lawn decorations, the wind tends to blow them down. A quick run to Debbie Ridings place to look for a Christmas gift, but not before you pick up a couple new stakes to replace what got snapped off the night before.”

“My weekend was way too busy. No time for relaxing or hiking.

Next weekend will be much much better!”

“Went hiking on the Steamboat Trail on Sunday. Seen a herd (?) of deer with three bucks in it. Everything went great until the mud defrosted. The return trip was all slick and squishy, and my boots collected mud like a magnet collects steel. It is still better to be out hiking in the mud than setting on the couch.”

“I took a hike with a friend in the new snow up the road in the San Gorgonio Wilderness (So. Calif.) on Saturday. The snow was so pretty, but not as deep as I hoped it would be. I dragged my snowshoes along, but never got to use them.

On Sunday I cooked spaghetti, cleaned the house and watched basketball.

“Dayhiked the Rock Springs Run State Reserve north of Orlando - hot - about 82F. But a nice day. Saw deer and a cottonmouth. No chiggers! I wondered again what it was like to actually hike up hill.”

“Hello everyone..:)Whats going on?Well just wanted to tell you all the the clubs backpacking trip was great.There were 6 people total.We did 15.4 miles on The North Country Trail in Manistee National Forest in Mich.Cowpatty and SB came along well 3 others came with and we all had fun.Cowpatty you should seen her she was cutting wood for the camp fire and she did a real good job...:)I will have new pictures up on the clubs website as soon as I can I will let ya all know when they are up.I hope all you other TT'ers had just as much fun as I did this weekend.

“my weekend was good. I made a few repairs to my pack, got grandmas money. no i am trying to decide witch stove to get The "Pocket Rocket" by MSR or the "yellowstone techno with peize lighter" by primus”

“WD, I went 30 miles today..........but there were 2 thin tires under me. It was like 60deg here this afternoon. Couldn't pass up the opportunity to take a nice long bike ride.”

“Car camped out overnight Saturday. Can't beat it!! Normally around 0 degrees here this time of year! Was around 55-60 today! Nice night.... could hear coyote pack moving around and howling. Hoot owls right near me, too. Toasty warm. Best of all, I was parked near the lower dam on the Upper Iowa River and no one came into my spot and bugged me (I was a bit off the beaten path, on an old road that soon dead ends for vehicles.)

Took off today on a hike on what used to be the road. At one place, the trail climbed the bluff, so up I went. I rousted a bald eagle from a tree 30 feet in front of me at eye level. I went downriver to the next bridge, then hiked back, probably 4 miles (measly for all you guys!)

Took a ton of photos. Inspected the old dam on the river. Climbed some rock. Findings: I lost my sunglasses on a steep hillside, but found right away (was heading down the hill on my butt at one point. LOL!! Kinda mushy in places, with leaves over the muck)... found a CANOE!! (can't be that!!!!)... found a Devils cap (is that NJ Devils? I dunno. But it's a nice cap)

“I had a really cool out of the ordinary weekend. I went to grand canyon history symposium. I know--it sounds like school. Well it was but it was cool school. Everybody who had ever written a book on the canyon was there I swear. I sat through about 15 lectures in two days and there was never a boring minute. If they ever do another one I am going.”

“I built a tyvek tarp.

The thing weights far less than my 2 person tent and less than half the weight of my old plastic tarp with over twice the space. I'll be using it next weekend on the Florida ECT, can't wait.”
