"Uh, I can't remember." Where have we heard THAT before?” 11:41:59 AM 12/16/03 “Yeah, they were SO worried about what/whom Saddam might reveal that they took him ALIVE. Yep, makes sense.” 11:44:52 AM 12/16/03 “Typical Democrat blather” 11:47:20 AM 12/16/03 “Well, the draft-dodger in chief is notoriously stupid. :^P~~~~~” 11:50:18 AM 12/16/03 “c bat - You might have noticed that Bill Clinton's name popped up in that article a couple of times too.” 12:05:50 PM 12/16/03 “If there was a big concern about what Saddam may reveal I doubt that he would have had the chance to surrender. That's just common sense.” 12:09:48 PM 12/16/03 “a lot of people would have doubted that an intelligent man in the oval office would get caught and fried over something as frivolous as a blow job, too...” 12:13:54 PM 12/16/03 “that's ORAL office, tree” 12:20:42 PM 12/16/03 “lol. Good one, C-man!” 12:28:27 PM 12/16/03 “They who protest overmuch Dan Carpenter The news that one of America's foremost advocates of segregation of the races had integrated himself with a black teenager who worked on his parents' household staff should not have been met with shock or awe. The late Sen. J. Strom Thurmond, who died before the world came to know of his African-American progeny, was holding up his end of an august tradition of high-level hypocrisy as old as enlightened slave-holders and as fresh as Washington war wimps. Still, even the two-faced god Janus would have to concede Ol' Strom pushed the envelope. A man who built his history-making career on opposition to interracial bathrooms turns out to have been busy in interracial bedrooms in his long-ago 20s. A one-time champion of separate education for black and white children would have had to make two school drop-offs every morning, had he kept all his children around. A member of the righteous band that prosecuted a president over a sexual indiscretion was being, as Glenn Close says in the film "Fatal Attraction," very discreet in the process. Human frailty this is not. Try breach of public trust. As an act of false witness, it's enough to make the cultural warriors strap on their helmets -- except they're still tied up trying to make Bill Clinton pay for a lie about an tryst with a woman of legal age. Remember Clinton, famously identified as a "scumbag" by U.S. Rep Dan Burton who, like his comrade Strom, had himself a love child he wasn't telling us about? I see a curious pattern here. Time after time, it seems, he who declaims loudest about a so-called evil is up to it himself. Roy Cohn, McCarthy-era scourge of homosexuals as well as communists in government, turns out to be -- drum roll -- gay. Terry Dolan, an antigay firebrand as founder of the National Conservative Political Action Committee, dies from AIDS, a closeted homosexual to the end. Clarence Thomas, who has attacked affirmative action at every turn as a Supreme Court justice, forgets he owes his Ivy League education not just to his considerable talent but also to affirmative action. Rush Limbaugh, voice of the stone-casting masses who would lock up drug users right alongside the lying Bill Clinton, confesses to having been a covert drug addict and accepts his second chance without missing a bombastic beat. Mr. Virtue, Bill Bennett, admits to being a big-time gambler and insists it's not a big deal. Let's not even bother with the televangelists and their sex scandals, the hawks who managed to fly around Vietnam and the stock swindlers who decry government regulation as socialism. The lesson to be derived from sanctimonious promotion of any dubious cause is clear. When they're trying to make you think something's rotten in the state of Denmark, chances are the smeller's the feller. What compels the Cohns and Dolans of the world not just to deny their nature but to crusade against their kind? What blinds a Thomas or a Clarence Pendleton to the racial injustice that affirmative action addressed? Why can't a Limbaugh or an equally powerful rabble-rousing politician truly reach out to his audience by calling a weakness a weakness? Contenting myself with cautionary notes, I'll leave the analysis to our legions of pop psychologists. Surely one of Dr. Laura's Web sites -- no, not the ones with her nude pictures -- will explain it all.” 2:24:58 PM 12/31/03 “By that token, bacpac & stratdewd are likely closet liberals.” 9:21:49 PM 12/31/03 Questions. “Just a few questions I would like answered. If we (via our president, well your president I didn't vote for him) refuse to join and support the war crimes tribual, how can we try people for war crimes? If someone is in another country and in their armed forces (John Walker), and by US law is no longer an American Citizen as a result of it, how can he be tried for "Treason"? Where the Hell is Osama Bin Laden? Where are the weapons of Mass Destruction? How come Cheney's Old company Halliburton gettin most of the reconstruction contracts without bidding? Especially in the light of charges of overcharging (theft or fraud if you or I do it) by the GAO? Where the Hell is Osama Bin Laden? Why arn't we doing anything to Saudi Arabia, or Pakistan, two countries where there is proof that financial support nd manpower supported 9-11? (No trace to the Iraqui's however) Why are we so chummy with Pakistan who aided North Korea develop nuclear arms. Where the Hell is Osama Bin Laden? Is it possible that we invaded Iraq because Saddam Hussien once called George Bush Sr. "The Great Satan"? Why does Bush want other countries to "help" in Iraq, but not share any of the control? Why are the Bush policies which took away civil rights now being overturned by the supreme court? If anyone asks me why forigners hate the US, I'll just pull out his picture. How come we are not attacking North Korea who we know has, and admits to having nuclear weapons? Where the Hell is Osama Bin Laden? How come more Americans have been killed since Bush declared the "war was over" then before. I'll answer that one..... Because he was too arrogant and too stupid to realize that our enemies are smart enough not to face us in the open. Just like the Americans did during the revolutionary war. Why do we have an Attorney General that lost an election in his own state to a dead man? One who said that if a "terrorist" bombed an abortion clinic in his state, he wouldn't prosecute. Seems to me if you or I said something like that we would be arrested for fostering violence. Where the Hell is Osama Bin Laden? Finally, with all our technology, manpower, intelligence (oops forgot, that hasn't been very dependable has it?)why can't we find a 6'7" terrorist wearing a towel on his head? Actually if you look at the complete picture, foreign, domestic and economical, with the exception of finally capturing Hussien, this president is a failure. America is no safer today then it was on 9/11. In fact there are more people pissed off at us than before. And I don't know about you, but I feel more threatened today by the Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, Ashcroft quartet then I do from forigners. Where the Hell is Osama Bin Laden? In closing, my favorite quote.... "Trust the government? ....Ask an Indian"” 3:52:05 PM 1/01/04 “See the January/February issue of Mother Jones. Its author, Robert Dreyfuss, was on C-SPAN's Washington Journal this morning. The website hasn't been updated just yet, but the last issue's cover story by Molly Ivins was pretty good, too....” 8:40:35 PM 1/01/04 For Redhawk “These are just "off the cuff", so-to-speak, but since you asked: Just a few questions I would like answered. Q. "If we (via our president, well your president I didn't vote for him) refuse to join and support the war crimes tribual, how can we try people for war crimes?" A. (Part 1) War crimes are clearly defined and have been for decades, thus it doesn't matter what you personally think. If they can be proven in an international court, so be it. Whether you "join" or not is irrelevant, crimes are crimes, period. A, Part 2: He is still your president whether you voted for him or not. You have many options, peaceful protest, leaving the country, etc., but, he IS still YOUR president. Q: "If someone is in another country and in their armed forces (John Walker), and by US law is no longer an American Citizen as a result of it, how can he be tried for "Treason"? A: My understanding is that he never gave up his US citizenship. End of discussion. Q: "Where the Hell is Osama Bin Laden?" A: We haven't caught or killed him yet, but we will. What is your point? Q: Where are the weapons of Mass Destruction? A: George shouldn't have promoted this as much as he did as the reason for ousting Saddam. Since he did, the only comment that can be offered in response is that every single recent administration prior to GW said Saddam had WMD... was everyone fooled for decades, or, have we not yet found them? Time will tell. Q: How come Cheney's Old company Halliburton gettin most of the reconstruction contracts without bidding? A: There are very few companies, in NAY industry, that want to do biz with the government due to their protracted and time-consuming processes. Haliburton is one of the few who do gov't biz, always have, nothing is new here. Q: Especially in the light of charges of overcharging (theft or fraud if you or I do it) by the GAO? This is an acquisition, not proven. Wait for results, remember, you still live in America whether you like it or not... "Innocent until proven guilty" is something you may have heard of. Q: Where the Hell is Osama Bin Laden? A; Didnt we already do this? Q: "Why arn't we doing anything to Saudi Arabia, or Pakistan, two countries where there is proof that financial support nd manpower supported 9-11? (No trace to the Iraqui's however)" A: What "proof"? And, how do you know we're not accomplishing something VERY significant through diplomatic means, which just hasn't happened to make headline news yet? Did you just hear about Libya & their "change of heart"? Do you think that just came out of no-where, or, is it possible that there has been diplomatic pressure applied. Q: "Why are we so chummy with Pakistan who aided North Korea develop nuclear arms." A: Because they helped us get into Afghanistan at a time we badly needed an ally, also because there are different factions there, and we're trying to show the world that it's beneficial to be friends w the US. Q: "Where the Hell is Osama Bin Laden?" A: Is there something wrong w your mental state? Do you think there is some point here? If so, it'd not clear, why don't you set a personal goal for yourself to try to learn to communicate more effectively?" Q: "Is it possible that we invaded Iraq because Saddam Hussien once called George Bush Sr. "The Great Satan"?" A: No, it's not possible. Q: "Why does Bush want other countries to "help" in Iraq, but not share any of the control?" A: They haven't been there from the start, they don't know the details, and they haven't made the commitment to see it through. Q: "Why are the Bush policies which took away civil rights now being overturned by the supreme court?" A: What the he!! are you talking about" What civil rights? If you're referring to those that allow us to capture suspected terrorists, I would suggest that you're confused between "Civil Rights" and the need to have order in a society and the governments' role. Q: "If anyone asks me why forigners hate the US, I'll just pull out his picture." A: Nothng to add Q: "How come we are not attacking North Korea who we know has, and admits to having nuclear weapons?" A: Two perspectives. 1. You fight the battles you know you can win and avoid the messy ones if it doesn't compromise your position. 2. There are diplomatic progresses being made w N Korea that weren't being made with Iraq. One is always better off solving thing via diploatic channels over war, don't you agree? Q: "Where the Hell is Osama Bin Laden?" A: Give it a rest Q: "How come more Americans have been killed since Bush declared the "war was over" then before. I'll answer that one..... Because he was too arrogant and too stupid to realize that our enemies are smart enough not to face us in the open. Just like the Americans did during the revolutionary war. A: The War is over because the outcome is KNOWN and NOT IN DOUBT. Period. Q: "Why do we have an Attorney General that lost an election in his own state to a dead man?" A: There are "emotional" votes, if you don't understand this basic concept you can't intelligently ask this question. Q: "One who said that if a "terrorist" bombed an abortion clinic in his state, he wouldn't prosecute. Seems to me if you or I said something like that we would be arrested for fostering violence. A: Don't know the details of his comment so cannot respond intelligently. Q: Where the Hell is Osama Bin Laden? Q: "Finally, with all our technology, manpower, intelligence (oops forgot, that hasn't been very dependable has it?)why can't we find a 6'7" terrorist wearing a towel on his head?" A: Cute question, do you feel better now? Actually if you look at the complete picture, foreign, domestic and economical, with the exception of finally capturing Hussien, this president is a failure. I did not vote for GW, and do not intend to in the next election. However, you're just plain WRONG. The econolmy, by every indicator, is going the right direction. The nations response after the shocker of 9-11 put him in a position no other pres in modern time has had to deal with. Domestically, he is still supported by a majority of voters. Q: "America is no safer today then it was on 9/11. In fact there are more people pissed off at us than before." A: This is Opinion only, we'll not know until more time passes without an attack. And I don't know about you, but I feel more threatened today by the Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, Ashcroft quartet then I do from forigners. Where the Hell is Osama Bin Laden? In closing, my favorite quote.... "Trust the government? ....Ask an Indian"" In closing, I feel far more threatened by ignorant people, who form opinions without fact, who operate on emotion rather than data, than I do the people who have the information with which to make informed decisions. I belive freedom and our very way of life is threatened GREATLY by people who scream the loudest, but have the fewest facts. It is a very, very sad state of affairs.” 9:35:28 PM 1/01/04 In closing.... “In closing, my favorite quote.... "Trust the government? ....Ask an Indian"" In closing.... why don't you at least come up with a quote that originated within the last 200 years? Is it possible people's attitides / opinions have changed since then? What do you hope to gain by suggesting the attitude today is the same as it was then? Or, are you just stuck in the past and unable to move forward?” 9:47:10 PM 1/01/04 “ObL is entombed amongst the mountains of Tora Bora. He earned his 72 virgins in the early days of the Afghanistan campaign. Seen any good ObL videos lately? Didn't think so...” 10:08:47 PM 1/01/04 “LOL, thanks gojo. You and SaraBelle both have a knack for putting things in perspective, I need to learn that!” 10:11:35 PM 1/01/04 “I thought I mighta seen an ObL video recently, but it turned out to be Snoop Dog...” 10:21:19 PM 1/01/04 “Seems that a couple of us have again fallen for the smoke screen of propaganda meant to hide the corporations and government bodies that are theirselves the biggest threat to REAL americans.” 10:34:08 PM 1/01/04 “Ahh yes, the ol' "corporations that secretly run the world" conspiracy theory.” 3:20:14 AM 1/02/04 “Secretly? Any Repub that hasn't come out against what Rush and Strom did = hyprocrite!! Trent Lott = hyprocrite!! Looks like they're batting 100% I feel for the Repubs. There losing a lot of mouth pieces. Must be a sign of the times!” 10:26:47 AM 1/02/04 “BTW - what does bacpac feel about his buddy Strom doing a black chick back in the day and fathering a child outta wed lock? Aren't those two strikes against the law in Arkansas?” 10:28:46 AM 1/02/04 “And, lest we forget, House Judiciary Committee Chairman Henry Hyde's "youthful indisretions". Aren't those two strikes against the law in Arkansas?" laqtis 10:28:46 AM 01/02/04 We're going to start on Strom now? Two words for those of you who are too dumb to remember: Robert Byrd. I guarantee there are just as many liberals with "indiscretions" as there are conservatives, and only the idiots will point out a few conservatives like Rush, Lott, Thurmond, etc., to try and make a point. If we're going to start playing the blame game, we could be here all day. At least Tree can acknowledge it happens on both sides of the fence.” 1:03:30 PM 1/02/04 “Stickman - whatnever. Spin it what ever way you want, the fact remains that they are hyprocrites and nothing less. Are there liberials that do the same, prolly, I have no idea, I'm not a liberial, so I have no idea for sure. I suggest that in the future you don't get so defensive. Am I going to start on Strom now...what a f-ing joke. Of course I will, just lke I'll rail every damn dirty phuckin politician out there, Lib or Repub. I'm not black and white like yerself. Too bad you, unlike myself, can't see past the lawn signs.” 1:24:52 PM 1/02/04 “I'm not a bit defensive about these people, I have no relation to them. I just get tired of see ing people like you be so narrow-minded, singling out conservatives, while ignoring their obvious liberal counterparts. Don't be so quick to be one of those who jumps on the bandwagon, criticizing whoever it's popular to criticize from week to week. Someone once said "Whoso would be a man, must be a non-conformist." Things aren't as cut and dried as you would like to portray them. Conservatives and liberals both screw up and mess around in astonishing proportion.” 1:44:54 PM 1/02/04 “Bacpac asks a fair question even though he’s off topic. The apparent agreement with Libya is really a product of a decade of sanctions and engagement. Qaddafi has been making overtures for some time now and perhaps if we had been less focused on Iraq, we could have done this more than two years ago when Libya, Iran and Syria came to us after 9/11 with offers of cooperation. While Clinton and Bush worked to isolate Qaddafi, our European allies feared that would be counterproductive and defied us by continuing to trade with Libya and keeping an open dialogue culminating with a UN negotiated settlement of the Lockerbie case. Libya needs our oil and gas expertise and investment and worked through our European allies to open channels to Washington. Do you really think Dubya would have invaded Libya when our few remaining allies (Great Britain, Spain and Italy) had active diplomatic and trade relations with them? So really, this seems to be a case against unilateral pre-emption and for multilateral diplomacy and the United Nations.” 1:55:34 PM 1/02/04 “Stick - it's apparent that you haven't been around in a while to know my stance, so I'll give ya a bennie of doubt. I have never defended a person of questionable charater, Repub or Lib. "People like me" point out the things that are goin wrong with this current leadership and there Cronnies and these days, there's a lot to point out. Maybe the leadership should not give "People like me" so much ammo. The problem is that "People like you" automatically assume that "People lke me" are always railing Conservatives, of which I used to be a "hardcore" Republican until not too long ago. So, techincally, I'm bashing my own party. Is that a problem for you? One thing that I AM NOT, is a bandwagon jumper. I have been critical of this leadership since they went into power. It's one of the reasons I rennouced my party afflilation and became an INDEPENDANT. The brass tax of it is that these people have alway championed themselves as "do gooders" and people of right (no pun intended), then the doors open up and the shayt fall out. Just like people before them, the likes of Falwell, Baker and such, people who open there mouth too much are doomed to put there foot in it.” 2:03:00 PM 1/02/04 “I will also pont out that for the record, bacpac again has his blinders on and will not answer an honest question.” 2:05:39 PM 1/02/04 Quote “rust the government? ....Ask an Indian"" In closing.... why don't you at least come up with a quote that originated within the last 200 years? Is it possible people's attitides / opinions have changed since then? It's plain to see that you are one of those whose eyes are closed to the injustices that still go on today. Reservations Lands flooded, different pay scales for Indians and non-indians (And if you think that is BS, check out salaries in South Dakota) What do you hope to gain by suggesting the attitude today is the same as it was then? I hope to make people aware that the attitude of the govenmrnt today towards Indians is the same as it was then. Or, are you just stuck in the past and unable to move forward?" I am a Lakota who has moved forward. My family came East when I was 6 (1948). However, when I go back to my reservation or on the reservations of many other nations, the injustices and in many cases oppression still occurs. If you like, email me and I will send you specifics. Although many of cases have been public enough that people should know. And answer me this. How come the government makes a hero out of a blue eyed blonde girl who was captured and rescued, yet there is no mention of the Hopi Woman who was killed "GOING BACK TO RESCUE HER" and who was the first woman ever killed in combat? If you want to continue the debate, lets do it in email and keep it off this board. I enjoy discussing these issues with others who disagee, but don't want to subject those who may not want to hear it to the discussion.” 4:18:15 PM 1/02/04 “Redhawk, I may disagree w you on some issues but will be the first to acknowledge you as a class act for your response. I actually believe (rather firmly) that many here would benefit from an exchange between people with different perspectives that didn't include gross generalizations, pre-conceived bias, and name-calling / personal attacks as their method of debating! Welcome to TT!” 5:59:24 PM 1/02/04 “YEAH, what the fiddle boy said.....” 7:27:47 PM 1/02/04 btw - First Woman Killed In Action...Since WWII 8:18:45 PM 1/02/04 “Q: "Why arn't we doing anything to Saudi Arabia, or Pakistan, two countries where there is proof that financial support nd manpower supported 9-11? Did you just hear about Libya & their "change of heart"? Do you think that just came out of no-where, or, is it possible that there has been diplomatic pressure applied. Careful, you two guys are burning both ends of the candle. What insight!” 8:42:37 PM 1/02/04 “Q. According to Ashcroft (when he was Artorney General of Missouri) he would not prosecute anyone bombing an abortion clinic because he does not consider that a crime (do some research). So whether a crime is a crime or not depends on who has the power. ANd check the wording in the documents kconcerning the War Crimes Agreement between Nations. It contradicts what you just stated. A, Part 2: He is still your president whether you voted for him or not. You have many options, peaceful protest, leaving the country, etc., but, he IS still YOUR president. REPLY: To you perhaps, not to me. I want everyone to know for a fact that I don't look to him as president. As I recall, there were more people who did not want him as president than did. ANd I think there will always be contention as to whether he really was legally elected. Q: "If someone is in another country and in their armed forces (John Walker), and by US law is no longer an American Citizen as a result of it, how can he be tried for "Treason"? A: My understanding is that he never gave up his US citizenship. End of discussion. Reply: No it's no. Read the question. The US REVOKES CITIZENSHIP if one fights for another armed forces. Thats Law, it isn't contingent on him giving it up. ANd if I have it straight, the US attacked HIM, not the other way around. Q: "Where the Hell is Osama Bin Laden?" A: We haven't caught or killed him yet, but we will. What is your point? REPLY: If you don't get the point, all the explaining in the world will be useless Q: Where are the weapons of Mass Destruction? A: George shouldn't have promoted this as much as he did as the reason for ousting Saddam. Since he did, the only comment that can be offered in response is that every single recent administration prior to GW said Saddam had WMD... was everyone fooled for decades, or, have we not yet found them? Time will tell. REPLY: But they didn't attack Iraq. REPLY: So, are you saying that Haliburton was the ONLY company that wanted any of those contracts? Or that the administration knew that Haliburton was the only company, therefore did not ask for bids as required? Q: Especially in the light of charges of overcharging (theft or fraud if you or I do it) by the GAO? This is an acquisition, not proven. Wait for results, remember, you still live in America whether you like it or not... "Innocent until proven guilty" is something you may have heard of. REPLY: The word is "accusation" not acquisition. The "investigation" is based on the fact that toe cost per gallon to the US is twice the cost per gallon of gas in Iraq, at the pump. So my guess is that it's true. And Yes I have heard of Innocent until proven guilty but the Bush Administration hasn't. AND further down YOU seem to indicate that it should not apply when when "Order is needed" (Almost a carch phase for police states) to catch terrorists. Q: Where the Hell is Osama Bin Laden? A; Didnt we already do this? REPLY: Yep and Bush asks the same question daily I bet. REPLY: Do you read the news? What was the nationalities of those who were on the planes on 9/11? Most were Saudis, a couple from Pakistan and none from Iraq. Osama is a Saudi. Thats enough proof for me. As for Libya, that negotiation started before 9/11 and it was brought about by economic sactions. Perfect Example of an Oximoran is using the words Bush and Diplomacy in the same sentence. Q: "Why are we so chummy with Pakistan who aided North Korea develop nuclear arms." A: Because they helped us get into Afghanistan at a time we badly needed an ally, also because there are different factions there, and we're trying to show the world that it's beneficial to be friends w the US. REPLY: KInd of like when we gave all the weapons and money to Iraq to aid the fight against Iran when we were pissed off at them? Q: "Where the Hell is Osama Bin Laden?" A: Is there something wrong w your mental state? Do you think there is some point here? If so, it'd not clear, why don't you set a personal goal for yourself to try to learn to communicate more effectively?" REPLY. Perhaps you need to learn to listen, then you might be able to listen to learn. (Seeing how you need to put this on a personal basis) Q: "Is it possible that we invaded Iraq because Saddam Hussien once called George Bush Sr. "The Great Satan"?" A: No, it's not possible. REPLY: Anythings possible! Q: "Why does Bush want other countries to "help" in Iraq, but not share any of the control?" A: They haven't been there from the start, they don't know the details, and they haven't made the commitment to see it through. REPLY: The UN has been in the business of handling these kinds of things for years. And they won't make the committment to see it through as long as the US wants to keep control. REPLY: I am talking about AMERICAN CITIZENS "suspected" of terrorism who are held without being charged and are not allowed to see an attorney or relatives. The US court of appeals has ruled that unconstitutional. REPLY: I agree that diplomatic channels are always best. However, North Korea has done nothing but make the US look like chumps for four decades and is much more dangerous than Iraq ever was. If the "suspicion" of WMD justified the invasion and occupation of Iraq then we certainly should be willing to take down an evil meglomaniac KNOWN to have Atomic Weapons and who also kills his own people. Q: "Where the Hell is Osama Bin Laden?" A: Give it a rest REPLY: Don't want too, IF we had not invaded Iraq and IF Bush had brought all his resources to bear on the individual we KNOW was behind 9/11, we might have the SOB. Q: "How come more Americans have been killed since Bush declared the "war was over" then before. I'll answer that one..... Because he was too arrogant and too stupid to realize that our enemies are smart enough not to face us in the open. Just like the Americans did during the revolutionary war. A: The War is over because the outcome is KNOWN and NOT IN DOUBT. Period. REPLY: If there who are people who are not in doubt that Iraq will become a democratic country and a US Ally and that the invasion will prevent terrorism either they are smoking some pretty powerful stuff, or they ought to be. Q: "Why do we have an Attorney General that lost an election in his own state to a dead man?" A: There are "emotional" votes, if you don't understand this basic concept you can't intelligently ask this question. RTEPLY: Sure I can. Ashcroft has had a problem being re-elected to any office he has held. I can also answer thew question, The voters of Missouri are a lot smarted than Bush. REPLY: NO, I'd feel a hell of lot bettr if they got him. REPLY: Jeez, all the people out of work will be happy to hear that. I thought his decision to go into Afghanistan was correct. As far as Iraq, the day he was awarded the election, I told my mate that we would be at war with Iraq in a couple of years. 9/11 was his excuse to do what he wanted to do, in my opinion. Domestically, he is still supported by a majority of voters. REPLY: Yeh and Nixon got reelected too! Q: "America is no safer today then it was on 9/11. In fact there are more people pissed off at us than before." A: This is Opinion only, we'll not know until more time passes without an attack. REPLY: Jeez planes can't land, we're looking over our shoulders. way I see it, the attack will come close to election day in November. It is a very, very sad state of affairs." REPLY: Tell you what,I'll site the facts and sources for my argument, you site the facts and sources for yours. When you don't know the person you are debating with or what there sources are, don't be quick to assume ignorance. I will admit to ignorance in many things. Ignorance is when you don't know. However I think the admistration suffers from compond ignorance: They don't know that they don't know.” 10:53:37 PM 1/02/04 The beat poetry of Donald Rumsfeld: “Reports that say that something hasn't happened are always interesting to me, because as we know, there are known knowns, there are things we know we know. We also know there are known unknowns; that is to say, we know there are some things we do not know. But there are also unknown unknowns -- the ones we don't know we don't know.” 10:11:53 AM 1/03/04 “x” 10:26:30 AM 1/20/04 Jump to Page << prev
