How much you want to bet that these same Republican hypocrites would be calling for leniency and amnesty if this kid was from a rich conservative Orange County family instead of the liberal Marin County he's from? These were the same Republican hypocrites who gave Monica immunity because she was "so young" and Clinton supposedly took advantage of her. She wasn't responsible for her actions according to Republicans, yet an even younger John Walker deserves death because he was fighting for the same country which the USA was a few years ago. Republicans stink to high hell of hypocrisy.” 1:46:59 PM 12/19/01 “Hi Spock.” 1:49:14 PM 12/19/01 “"yet an even younger John Walker deserves death because he was fighting for the same country which the USA was a few years ago." No, he deserves to hang because he was fighting against the United States. I think the simple fact you consider puffin' a peter in the oval office and taking up an AK 47 against the U.S. to be comperable says it all.” 1:57:37 PM 12/19/01 “The man never took up a weapon against the USA. He was fighting the Northern alliance well before 9/11. The only contact he had with the USA was while he was in prison.” 2:00:33 PM 12/19/01 “So, what would happen to an American that joined the Nazis and was fighting for them against France but not against us?” 2:03:49 PM 12/19/01 “This issue is not for the blabber-mouths to decide. We are still a country of laws. I, for one, don't give a rat's arse about this knucklehead Walker. Whatever the authorities decide to do with him is a big buggin' yawn for me. Smoke 'im if ya gotta.” 2:12:41 PM 12/19/01 “Quite a few German-Americans returned to der Fatherland to fight for "their" country. They followed their consciences and I suppose Walker did too. Boy did he bet on the wrong horse!” 2:15:23 PM 12/19/01 “Johnny Jihad should be turned over to the Northern Alliance and treated like any other prisoner of war. My biggest concern is that this dip #&%!$ will come back to US, write a book ( "I was a teenage Taliban") and have a movie of the week made about him.” 2:27:44 PM 12/19/01 “This should be interesting, legally speaking. There's been debate over whether or not someone can be charged with treason when there's not been a declaration of war. There's only been something like 30 cases of treason tried in 225 years. It's always been used for major players, not foot soldiers. And he joined the wackos in March, long before the attacks. Way too many legal entanglements. BaSO4 is right; we should "accidentally" turn him over to the Northern Alliance and be done with it.” 2:45:27 PM 12/19/01 “Spock, you are nuts. Republicans never stood behind Monica, and if they did it was only to put more blame on clinton. Jonny Taliban Walker should be tried for treasen. He is an american citizen that took arms against the US.” 2:58:58 PM 12/19/01 “If he returned the dumbocrats would nominate him for public office. The only reason the repugnantcans are against him is Marin County voted overwhelmingly for Gore.” 3:02:49 PM 12/19/01 “I see no hypocrisy by the Republicans. The majority of republicans and democrats agree John Walker is not a U.S. citizen. According to the Secretary of State of the United States of America you automatically lose your citizenship if you: 1. become naturalized in a foreign state 2. take an oath or make a declaration to a foreign state 3. serve in the armed forces of a foreign state 4. accept employment with a foreign gov't 5. formally renounce U.S. citizenship... Evidence suggests he has committed all these acts except #5. He is Taliban and the Taliban is our primary enemy at this time. These policies have been around longer than any of us. Sorry pal this is not a Republican thing. If your such a free thinker, quit being led by everything you see on TV. Oh yeah, I am not a right-winger, just can't stand someone manipulating facts for gain. If there are any questions you should check your passport.” 3:32:46 PM 12/19/01 OHMAGAWD! “ROTMFFLMNWACOTTOML!!! Sick'em George!” 3:45:44 PM 12/19/01 Does that stand for: “Repugnant, Obtuse Turncoat, Manifesting Fear and Flippant Languishing Morbid, Nauseating Whipping-boy, Accustomed to Crapulence and Offal, Tyrannical, Troglodytic Oddity, Manifesting Lies?” 3:57:04 PM 12/19/01 “That's a pretty funny analogy Monica and John! LOL! I can't believe you got people to bite on that one! (I s'pose you were hoping that nobody would notice that Monica was also the offspring of Clinton supporting California liberals).” 4:38:01 PM 12/19/01 “All that kid did was run around hiding from the B-52s. So did the rest of the Taliban. He never raised a gun against the Imperial Storm Troopers of the Dark Empire. He had surrendered and had his hands tied behind his back when the CIA war criminal Johnnie Spann instigated the prison "revolt." Free the man.” 4:55:40 PM 12/19/01 treason “Hang him- The Civil War and the Korean war weren't declared wars, it didn't stop lots of treason trials. I go with what Nigal said, comparing lying to the country, which was what that was about, not the BJ, and taking up arms against the country you are a citizen of is a little rediculous.” 4:55:58 PM 12/19/01 “And Demo-Stooges, don't go wetting your pants over this one. Al Gore would be doing the same thing.” 5:00:03 PM 12/19/01 “To prove treason, (I heard this on the radio, today), you have to have two witnesses to testify that they saw the person in the act of fighting against the US. I don't think that is going to happen.” 10:17:20 PM 12/20/01 “All we are doing over there is teaching a whole generation to hate Americans for sticking guns in their faces. A whole new generation of Terrorists.” 11:27:58 PM 12/20/01 “We can send them that Eddie the Eagle creature that the NRA uses to teach children about firearms. As for John, well he just needs to disappear. He should be a back page story at this time just above Gary Convict's. The Northern Alliance should get dibs on him first I feel. As for his involvement its nothing a sodium pentothal can't figure out!” 12:25:46 AM 12/21/01 “gee ma look what I found in the dung heap” 10:37:13 PM 1/15/02 “American Lori Berenson is in jail in Peru for terrorism. Two-bit president-select Bush is visiting Peru in an effort to have this convicted terrorist released. Good for you Dubya. Terrorism isn't such a bad thing provided it isn't aimed towards the USA. Isn't that what Reagan taught us?” 12:43:06 PM 3/23/02 “Illegal labor aided Tancredo Workers say they redid basement for immigration critic By Michael Riley Denver Post Staff Writer Thursday, September 19, 2002 - Undocumented immigrants helped remodel U.S. Rep. Tom Tancredo's Littleton basement, two of the workers told The Denver Post. The workers said they were among a crew of five or six people who labored for contractor Creative Drywall Design of Denver, creating a home theater with terraced seating, a billiards table and game area, and a bedroom for Tancredo, a Republican and one of the nation's most vocal immigration critics. All but one of the crew were undocumented immigrants from Latin America, according to two of the workers. The Denver Post is not naming the employees because of the possibility that identification might lead to legal proceedings against them... Tancredo "doesn't want us here, but he'll take advantage of our sweat and our labor," said one of the workers. "It's just not right."...” 11:38:56 AM 9/20/02 “I think that kind of hypocrisy is typical of anti-immigrant types in both parties. Sometimes I wonder if some anti-immigrant types are against legal immigration for the same reasons drug dealers are against legalizing drugs: it would cut into their action. Let these guys work legally and you have to pay them more and treat 'em better.” 12:02:01 PM 9/20/02 “It is the responsability of the employer and not his customer to be sure that his employees are legal. Didja ever think that maybe the contractor lied to the Rep.? Didja ever think that maybe the employer was lied to by the workers? Whole lot of possibilities there and a whole lot more to the story than what was posted here. click the link for the whole thing.” 12:59:26 PM 9/20/02 “what HPM said!! sounds like the NannyGate all over again there is more to this then meets the eye.” 1:03:51 PM 9/20/02 “Surely you’re not accusing me of selective editing to stir the pot, are you?” 1:05:26 PM 9/20/02 “Why of course not!!!! You'd NEVER do such a thing. I'm shocked that you would even think that. nudge, nudge, wink, wink” 1:10:12 PM 9/20/02 “Ah.... thanks HPM. The Viol man is busted!!!!” 1:13:15 PM 9/20/02 this blows my mind... “European Leaders' Statements Supporting U.S. Position on Iraq Tuesday, February 17, 1998 BALTIC STATES Joint statements of the Presidents of Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania: "We believe that strict compliance with international commitments, including United Nations resolutions, is an uncontested obligation of every country of the world community. "We unequivocally support the United Nations resolution of destroying chemical and biological weapons in Iraq. The United Nations Special Commission should be allowed to continue its work without any limitations. "We believe all diplomatic avenues should be exhausted to solve the current crises, but we also support other actions of the international coalition that are necessary to guarantee compliance of Iraq with its international commitments and demolition of weapons of mass destruction. "The Baltic States are ready, if necessary, within their means to provide support to the international coalition to ensure implementation of United Nations resolutions." BELGIUM Foreign Minister Erik Derycke spoke in favor of a settlement of the crisis between the United Nations and Iraq by diplomatic rather than military means. He called on the United Nations to take initiatives in this direction. He pointed out that full responsibility for the present crisis lay with Iraq. However, he stressed that during the present "interim" situation all diplomatic initiatives must be supported. He expressed the hope that Great Britain and the United States will go back to the UN Security Council to heat the opinion of other Security Council members. If these initiatives fail, the use of force should not be ruled out as an ultimate solution to make the Iraqi government give way. "The Iraqi situation is very different from what it was in 1991 when there was a war involving the international community as a result of the invasion of Kuwait, a war conducted in accordance with a UNSC resolution. "In the present situation, Belgium will asses requests as they are made. As a member of NATO it has obligations, but no requests have been made at that level either." [Rush's tip: focus on Canada, the EC, France and Germany] CANADA 1) Prime Minister Chretien told Parliament on February 9 that, "If we do not act, if we do not stand up to Saddam, that will encourage him to commit other atrocities." He continued that "the choice is clear (for Canada). It is a choice dictated by the responsibilities of international citizenship, by the demands of international security and an understanding of the history of the world in this century." 2) Defense Minister Eggleton explained that although Saddam says he does not have chemical or biological weapons, the UN believes otherwise. As such, Eggleton prefers, "to believe the UN and its multilateral inspection team. Saddam Hussein has shown in the past that we cannot trust his word." On Feb. 10, Eggleton said that if a number of countries join the US-led military coalition, "this might be enough for Saddam Hussein to back off and to comply with UN resolutions." 3) Foreign Minister Axworthy at the UN Feb. 11 told reporters that "This whole thing could be solved in 10 seconds if Saddam Hussein lives up to the commitments made in 1991." EUROPEAN COMMISSION President Jacques Santer: "Iraq must execute in an unconditional manner all the UN resolutions" or face "grave consequences." FRANCE Office of the French President Jacques Chirac: "France repeats that Iraq must scrupulously respect all the UN Security Council resolutions. This is the only route that could enable Iraq to be readmitted, when the time comes, into the international community. The President of the Republic made this clear to the Iraqi Foreign Minister. He stressed "the extremely grave risks that will result from a refusal by Iraq to accept the inspection of the 'presidential sites.' Now time is running out." GERMANY Mr. Rudolf Scharping, Chairman of the SPD Bundestag Group: "I would like to state the central issues once again. First, there is only one individual who bears the responsibility for the current confrontation with the United Nations, and that is Saddam Hussein. Second, he has to see to it that Iraq satisfies all the UN resolutions. Third, every possible political effort has to be made to arrive at a peaceful solution. Fourth, the danger posed by Iraqi weapons of mass destruction is a matter that no one can view with indifference, and that is the case for all the other states in the region, especially Israel, as well as for the Europeans and the Americans. (applause) That is why Iraq should stop refusing to cooperate, and if all the political efforts that are being made do not result in success, a military operation cannot and should not be ruled out in this case. (applause) The United States and Great Britain can absolutely count on German solidarity." Foreign Minister Klaus Kinkel: "Incidentally, I believe that we Germans in particular have good reason to work toward preventing a dictator from causing something terrible yet again. There was one dictator who was stopped too late. This one has to be stopped in good time. (applause) "I personally pin hopes on Russia, Turkey, and France. At the moment, if anyone has the connections making it possible to help, it is undoubtedly these three countries. I hope it still proves possible to arrive at a diplomatic solution. "We are maintaining intensive contact with the United States and with our partners and friends in the EU. However, our experience of Saddam Hussein to date, and I believe that this is also of key importance, shows that, unfortunately, he is only prepared to observe UN Security Council resolution when he is under pressure. The international community cannot simply accept always being made a fool of. That is why the military option must remain available. He who wants a peaceful solution in particular cannot waver in this regard." [End of Rush's focus area] LITHUANIA Lithuanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Political Director Usackas: "The Lithuanian Foreign Ministry condemns the refusal of (the) Iraqi leadership to comply with resolutions by the United Nations Security Council and allow UN weapons inspectors in to objects that are thought to contain weapons of mass destruction." THE NETHERLANDS Prime Minister Kok: "We all know how Saddam Hussein operates. We know that the diplomatic-political channel should be matched with the threat of sanctions and pressure.... We cannot wait indefinitely until Saddam Hussein is finally again brought to reason. We must exert pressure." NORWAY Foreign Minister Knut Vollebaek: "Compliance with a binding resolution adopted by the United Nations Security Council must be an absolute requirement. Norway has on a number of occasions strongly deplored the lack of willingness on the part of Iraq to fulfill its obligations and cooperate with UNSCOM. The government considers it important that respect for the Security Council as a guarantor of international peace and security is maintained." "If attempts at a peaceful solution are not successful, and military action should be taken against Iraq, the government considers that, taking everything into account, such action can be justified within the framework of the Security Council's resolutions. The international community has the right to ensure that Iraq complies with UN resolutions." SPAIN President Aznar: "This is the Spanish position. This crisis will be solved if Iraq's government clearly complies with its obligation and does the right thing. If not, the duty of the Spanish government is to let it be known that other means might be used -- a possibility we do not look forward to. But if these other means are finally used, Spain, I repeat, will obviously live up to its commitments and side with its partners and allies." SWEDEN Foreign Minister Lena Hjelm-Wallen: "The government hereby warns that the United Nations will take firm, unanimous action in Iraq. The resolutions passed by the Security Council have to be respected, and Iraq's weapons of mass destruction must be eliminated." UNITED KINGDOM Prime Minister Blair at the White House Joint Press Conference with President Clinton on Friday, February 6, 1998: "And what we agreed was that we had to do three things in particular. We have first of all to make sure that our own public opinion was properly educated as to why it's so essential that the UN inspectors are able to do their work, the amount of weapons that they have already uncovered in the six or seven years that they have been doing this task, and why it is therefore absolutely essential that Saddam Hussein is brought back into line with UN Security Council resolutions and the inspectors can go about their tasks unhindered. "Secondly, though, in relation to Iraq, it is important that we stress all the time, of course we want a diplomatic solution, but it must be a diplomatic solution based on and fully consistent with the principles that we have set out. The question of whether there is such a diplomatic solution rests ultimately with Saddam Hussein. He has the choice. He can bring himself back into compliance with the agreements he entered into, and then that diplomatic solution can be fulfilled. "Thirdly, however, we have of course to prepare in case diplomacy cannot work. In view of the situation, we in Britain have been looking at our own military readiness in case a diplomatic solution does not in the end prove possible. We have decided to base eight Tornado GR-1 aircraft in Kuwait, with the full agreement of the government of Kuwait. "Remember, he agreed -- he undertook to destroy any weapons of mass destruction capability, whether nuclear, chemical, or biological. Now he's in breach of that. We've got to make sure he complies one way or another with it." Foreign Secretary Cook: Cook said that Kofi Annan has got to go to Iraq with two things. "First of all, he has to go with the message that Saddam must carry out the undertakings which he himself actually signed up to do, namely to allow the UN inspectors to carry out their work without obstruction, without refusal to get into certain sites, without any no-go areas. "... Secondly, he has got to go with the clear understanding of what would be an acceptable outcome to the Security Council." "... We are proposing a precise, specific military strike to carry out by military means what Saddam is currently preventing us from doing through the UN inspection regime, namely to destroy his chemical and his biological weapons. But ... we would prefer a diplomatic solution." Doorstep interview with UK Foreign Secretary Cook and Mr. Salman Rushdie in London: "We have always stressed that we want to explore all diplomatic avenues before any military action is taken, and we are very supportive of the idea that Kofi Annan should visit Baghdad, provided we are clear that Baghdad will treat him seriously...; the objective must be effective inspection by UNSCOM that stops Saddam Hussein (from) acquiring chemical and biological weapons."” 11:36:27 PM 9/20/02 “"Being half cocked is what Violin is best at." - his wife” 11:45:59 PM 9/20/02 “A little knowledge is a dangerous thing. -- Various” 12:59:56 AM 9/21/02 do you get it? “you don't get it... see? they WERE all like, kick his butt, now they're all like appease saddam.....why the change? all the democrats did the same thing. when clinton was in office thay all said lets get saddam. now they are all against bush(at least they were untill his UN speech and they checked the polling data) they put partison obstructionism ahead of national security. sad $h!t.....” 1:06:59 AM 9/21/02 “(On the way to vote on drunken driving measure) Kansas Senate Majority Leader Arrested for Drunken Driving The Associated Press Published: Feb 25, 2003 TOPEKA, Kan. (AP) - A high-ranking Kansas legislator was arrested early Tuesday for drunken driving. Senate Majority Leader Lana Oleen failed both a sobriety test and Breathalyzer test, the Shawnee County Sheriff's Department said. Her blood-alcohol level was not released. "I regret this has happened," Oleen, 53, said in a statement she distributed after Tuesday's Senate session. Oleen, alone in her Jeep Cherokee, was driving slowly and not staying in one lane when she was stopped in southeast Topeka, said Deputy Martha Lutz, sheriff's department spokeswoman. "She was extremely cooperative and polite," Lutz said. Oleen, who has no prior driving convictions, was freed after posting a $1,000 bond. She was the second member of the Senate to be arrested for drunken driving this year. On Tuesday, the Senate debated and voted on several bills, including one requiring those convicted of DUI to attend at least a 10-hour alcohol and drug treatment program. Oleen remained silent during the DUI bill debate but voted for the measure, which passed 33-6.” 11:15:46 AM 2/26/03 “Don't you have anything better to do???” 11:17:17 AM 2/26/03 “Violin, you is a wicked boy!” 11:19:07 AM 2/26/03 wsdavies - “Out Of The Kitchen - NOW!!!” 11:27:44 AM 2/26/03 “OK, somewhat interesting. I'm sure you know more about this than I do but I don't see anywhere in the story that she is a Rebublican. But it fits your needs that she be a republican so I guess she must be. On the other hand it does say that "She was extremely cooperative and polite," so I guess it is safe to assume that she would not be a Democrat.” 11:31:43 AM 2/26/03 “SHe must be an alien” 11:33:38 AM 2/26/03 “Well it doesn't say in the story that she isn't Tom. I guess if it fits your need, she must be. Lana Oleen” 11:38:05 AM 2/26/03 “I assume that she is a Republican since she is the Majority Leader in Kansas. Big deal. There's drunks in both parties, just ask Ted Kennedy.” 11:39:48 AM 2/26/03 “What would a party be without a few drunks, eh?” 11:41:23 AM 2/26/03 “I gotta agree with Savage on this one. In addition, I don't see the hypocrisy, unless she tries to duck the 10 hour program (assuming it applies to her).” 11:45:50 AM 2/26/03 11:57:21 AM 2/26/03 “Hey, if you want hypocrisy, why not look at RFK Jr. He was being interviewed by Sean Hannity and was going on and on about how driving SUVs support terrorism, hurt the environment etc. When the interview was almost over, RFK Jr. admitted that he had to catch a private jet for a trip to Florida. Now, that's hypocrisy!” 12:08:30 PM 2/26/03 “However, since RFK Jr. is not a politician, it is just plain vanilla hypocrisy – not Dem or Repub.” 12:21:04 PM 2/26/03 “Viol boy - I'm just obsessive about not getting caught up in spin and hype no matter if supports my prejudices or not. As far as that link... gee I am starting to feel like a fly-swatter. When will people look and think for themselves. Thanks for bringing it to my attention. And I was in such a good mood getting ready for my trip to Maine tommorrow.” 12:48:52 PM 2/26/03 “ ![]() You boysh wanna get a little dweenkie wit me?...” 1:00:51 PM 2/26/03 “However, since RFK Jr. is not a politician, it is just plain vanilla hypocrisy – not Dem or Repub." Violin It's worse than that Violenin: Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. is a Senior Attorney for NRDC, Chief Prosecuting Attorney for the Hudson Riverkeeper, and a Clinical Professor of Law at Pace University School of Law. His work on environmental issues ranges from assisting indigenous tribes in Latin America and Canada to fighting polluters on the Hudson River.” 2:37:01 PM 2/26/03 Jump to Page |  1 | 2
