Masterfile.com “The other day in shop I found a book called MasterFile. Aparently they have all hiress photos of neat stuff. They have awsome pics of the widlerness, and weather. http://www.masterfile.com/search.mf?fs=search.html&new+images any of them are really neat. I wish I know how they took them, or where. My shop teacher tells me that they use eather a really expencive digital camrea, or they use a really good 35mm, and a drum scanner that coast alot of money. Just found it interesting.” 8:33:11 PM 12/19/01 “glad to see your spelling skills haven't changed.. that way it's harder to torll you.. :)” 7:40:02 AM 12/20/01 Please don't take this the wrong way “I think that's a cool site and I REALLY appreciate you pointing it out for us. But, I have been puzzling over this and cannot come up with any reasonable solution. What the hell is a 'hiress'?” 8:40:26 AM 12/20/01 “That's a woman who inherits a lot of money. No, actually I think you are looking for "hi-res" as in high resolution. C'mon, Skully, you're a bright girl. Dunno why you didn't guess that one. ;-)” 9:18:02 AM 12/20/01 “I actually had to go to the web site to figure he meant Hi-Res... But it is a really cool website. I registered...but I don't know why they need my phone #...so I entered it in as 123-5678.” 9:21:57 AM 12/20/01 “I'll have to enter that into the decoder ring data base. Thanks!” 9:22:51 AM 12/20/01 “Stock Photography is a very big business and you will get the living crap sued out of you if you use their images without paying for them and get caught. Be very careful. Tea the stock company doesn't take the photos they buy them from individual professional photographers. Most of these folks are using 35mm or large format film (I think that's 40mm) Bigger negatives give more information and a sharper image. All are scanned from tranpariencies (negatives). Some of these drum scanners prices start at hundreds of thousands of dollars. Some more links for you: eyewire.com gettyimages.com superstock.comBTW-I worked on this site photodisc.com indexstock.com You would be wise to only use royalty-free images for now. They are much cheaper. USe the royalty stuff when you have a client that can afford to pay for it. They get your phone numer because if you start buying a lot of images a sales rep will call you and act as your personal sales rep.” 9:46:55 AM 12/20/01
