JERUSALEM (CNN) -- A number of Israeli army officers will receive reprimands for their role in an explosion that killed five Palestinian children last month in Khan Younis in Gaza, according the Israel Defense Forces.

The five boys were killed November 22 when they inadvertently set off the bomb while on their way to school in the Khan Younis refugee camp in Gaza.

The Israeli army said shortly after the blast that it had planted a bomb in a sandbagged position from which Palestinian militants fired at Jewish settlements.

An announcement on the IDF Web site said Lt. Gen. Shaul Mofaz concluded "that the incident was an operational mishap, whose result was serious and saddening.

"The mishap was due to the combination of a number of professional mistakes, mistaken decisions and an inappropriate distribution of attention."

That's bad, BR.

But I still think those soldiers who planted the mine should have some of their 'parts' removed --- some that would be missed.

"an inappropriate distribution of attention."

Wonderful.

history.....
European colonialism in the 19th and as late as the 20th century has alot to do w/ the current situation. Kuwait was Iraq until the Brits decided to separate just as Pakistan was India. Although we don't import as much oil from the MidEast as you would think, it is still vital to world oil supply. Ask the Turks what they think of the Arabs. American backing of the elite in the Middle East and Isreal will not be without a cost. Personally, I'm curious about their culture and will save any judgement or opinion until I know more. I actually had Iranian neighbors when I was a student at the U. Although I had a hard time with the perceived subjugation of the women and preferential treatment of male children the family was loving, peaceful and most of all a good neighbor.

Digging in graves = western scum
BAGRAM AIR BASE, Afghanistan (CNN) -- A Canadian-led mission to find the remains of al Qaeda leaders in the mountainous Tora Bora region of Afghanistan ended Tuesday without uncovering whether the most notorious of all -- Osama bin Laden -- is dead.

The Tora Bora region was the scene of heavy fighting and an intensive U.S. air campaign in December, and intelligence sources believed it was possible that bin Laden had been trapped in a cave destroyed by the bombing, military sources said.

The main contingent of Operation Torii -- 372 Canadians and specialists from the U.S. Army's Criminal Investigation Division, U.S. military intelligence and the FBI -- headed into the treacherous mountains 30 kilometers from Jalalabad three days ago after about 20 U.S. Special Forces had arrived for early reconnaissance.

"The primary goal of the operation was to conduct sensitive site exploitation and to conduct demolition operations in order to deny al Qaeda ability to operate in this area," said Luc Charron, a Canadian army spokesman.

So how come they don't hate the Canadians?

If we want the Arabs to respect us we need to dig up Osama's corpse, stick his head on a pike and parade it through Kabul. They appreciate that kind of thing.

Personally, I think they hate anybody that don't live like they do (religion, family values etc.). They just hate Americans the most.
