Ring out solstice bells
Dug out my old Jethro Tull cassette "Songs from the Wood" this a.m. so that I could listen to "Ring out, Solstice Bells" on the way into work today.

What a great great albumn. Especially for thse who feels close to the outdoors. Just amazing:

Ring Out, Solstice Bells

Now is the solstice of the year,
winter is the glad song that you hear.
Seven maids move in seven time.
Have the lads up ready in a line.

Ring out these bells.
Ring out, ring solstice bells.
Ring solstice bells.

Join together beneath the mistletoe.
by the holy oak whereon it grows.
Seven druids dance in seven time.
Sing the song the bells call, loudly chiming.

Ring out these bells.
Ring out, ring solstice bells.
Ring solstice bells.

Praise be to the distant sister sun,
joyful as the silver planets run.
Seven maids move in seven time.
Sing the song the bells call, loudly chiming.
Ring out those bells.
Ring out, ring solstice bells.
Ring solstice bells.
Ring on, ring out.
Ring on, ring out.

Out In The Woods

(Well I'm going down)
Goin' down a hard road
(Just don't know)
Don't know where I've been
(But I think I've been walkin')
I'm walkin' round in circles
Can't even find a friend

(My love)
My love she is not waiting
(Think I might've been gone too long)
I've been gone too long
(Look at the people)
People make me crazy
I can hardly sing my song

Hustlers stand around me
I'm lost and all alone
Can't tell the bad from the good
I'm out in the woods
I'm lost in the woods

(Big city gamblers)
Gamblers take my money
(Yes it gets to be useless)
And it's useless to me
(And I think I'm lost)
When I'm lost inside this jungle
Can't see the forest for the trees

(Pretty little woman)
Woman come and get me
(Try me)
Try me one more time
(Yes and your sweet)
Your sweet understanding
Can fix this broken heart of mine

Vultures fly around me
Come and take me home
Can't tell the bad from the good
I'm out in the woods
I'm lost in the woods

Tilt--

Follow this link and take a look at the lyrics for all of "songs from the Wood". Very thematic. The DEVIANTS among us will like "Hunting Girl"

Wow, Lee, I haven't listened to that in like forever...except for "The Whistler" which I have on a compilation tape I made. I will have to dig that out, I forgot how good it was.

"The queen of all the pack," LOLOL...

And for all the Leon Russell fans, I just found This. There's got to be lyrics to over 100 of his songs there.

Saw them in concert a few summers ago. Great show!!

Didn't play Skating Away on the Thin Ice of a New Day... Which I would have loved to hear live!

Oh, that's a good one! I was pretty ticked that "The Teacher" wasn't on that "Original Masters" CD.

Heeeeeeere they are: ALL the Jethro Tull Lyrics.

Don't mind me, I'm just kindof a lyrics nut.

It's great to see so many Tull fans. I first saw them in 1978 and they were magical.

Tarabull --

For some reason . . .I ski to "skating away". It helps me find a rythm and just repeats over and over as I make my way down a slope.
