What to do?
My calendar is wide open from 12/26 til 1/06. Twelve Days of Christmas!

I wanna do a multi-niter.
I would like to go to a place that I've never hiked that allows dogs. Anywhere within a 12 hour drive of ATL would qualify.

Talledaga NF
N GA Mtns
Sipsey
FL (I'll be doing ONF soon enuf)
Conecuh NF
Providence Canyon
Cumberland I.
Wilson Cr.
Shining Rocks
All NPs
Most SPs
and RRG are out of the running.

After a primary, I will narrow the choices to three. Belle and I will go to wherever you folks elect from those three.

Let the primary begin -
cast your vote now!

Thanks for your recommendation.

And pick me and Scooby up on the way. My car is having severe technical difficulties and I'm stranded for the holidays.

Providence canyon can be done in an afternoon. It's pretty but if you are looking for a multinighter I'd scratch it.

"are out of the running" means that he does NOT intend on going to these places...

Might not have to go all the way up to NH after all, seems like there might just be enough snow in the Dak's. I've done this trip before, Bushnell falls is about 7 mile in from the Garden (parking area) and a good place to camp. There are several peaks that one could hit from there.

Trail: Marcy via The Garden

Date Hiked: December 22 2001

Conditions: The Garden to JBL: packed snow. JBL to Bushnell Falls: packed
snow & powder snow. Bushnell Falls to Marcy: powder snow.

Special Required Equipment: The Garden to JBL: snowshoes optionnal. JBL
to Bushnell Falls: snowshoes useful. Bushnell Falls to Marcy: snowshoes
essentials. ** Bring a headlamp, very short days.

Comments: Not much snow dow in the valley, but better higher up.

what are the odds?
I was in the Pack Shack (Delaware Water Gap, Pa) checking out snowshoes and 2 guys walk in. One had a southern accent and the other looked very very familiar. Turns out it was Gojo and SirPete picking up some stuff while on their way to the Catskills. I met Pete once before so it was good to see him again and it was a pleasure to meet the one and only Gojo. On the way out, I even got to see the adorable Sarabelle. My only regret was that I couldn't go with them. Have fun guys!
