“i found this place while looking through SGT Rock's hiking HQ ( http://hikinghq.net/getting_starterd.html ) while looking for ideas on making your own gear- im gonna be desigining + making my own vestibule, pack cover, daypack that mates to my main pack, , and possibly gaiters, gloves, stuff sacks and gear bags, and any other trinkets i see (the alchohol stoves seem pretty interesting)

i did some backpacking with the boy scouts (eagle scout) and am now getting back in the swing after two years of not backpacking- im taking a class here at tennessee tech university, and have found a buch of people to go on trips with

other than that, im studying to be a mechanical engineer, am a car enthusiast (betcha dont have many of those here :p i got a 94' mustang as my current bad habit) and am just your usual flat broke college kid (aka, half-educated street bum) so im short on money, but long on ingenuity, ive built a lake canoe that unbolts to fit into my truck+backseat for $14, and used to do some whitewater canoeing (didnt use that boat though) i do a little mountain biking here and there, but mostyl stick to weekend backpacking trips and dayhikes

a more local one i always liked was lost creek cave, has a waterfall inside, and a creek runs right in the mouth, its alotta fun, couple of good places to sleep in there, and has some pretty serious stuff (pits+the like) - rice cave was another one i did awhile back, pretty neat, but couldnt sleep in it like lost creek

i dont really know of any others, or at least how to get to any others

“Yes, it's all my fault. I went over to the Martha-Stewart side boasting that the people on TT had more than one annual trip where 3 people show up. I dared the legit backpackers to come over and try a trip themselves just to prove it. My calculation that 2.689 people from the other site backpacked may be proved wrong since four of them have switched sides...that leaves them with -1.311 backpackers on that site.
