I also saw them at Popular” 5:18:09 PM 12/26/01 “snow peak makes a titanium spork. lexan soup spoons are better, imo.” 5:25:14 PM 12/26/01 Here's your spork link 5:26:40 PM 12/26/01 “hey get free sporks at KFC...i have a whole collection! they are fun to fling peas at fellow backpackers” 5:29:39 PM 12/26/01 “Violin - are you well - why didn't you make a real link out of that URL - are you a torll and don't know how ??? (TT Enquirer wants to know (BSEG))” 5:40:56 PM 12/26/01 “It's a Tripod site. They don't like direct links so you have to cut 'n paste. If I made a link, this is what you'd get.” 5:50:21 PM 12/26/01 “Great! Now they allow them!” 5:51:31 PM 12/26/01 “LOL - ain't it always the way” 6:32:23 PM 12/26/01 “btw poppinfresh - most outfitters (ex REI stores) have lexan sporks in stock along with other implements of ingestion.” 6:44:32 PM 12/26/01 “Lookout, implements of gastronomic destruction!” 6:47:20 PM 12/26/01 “Speaking of REI does anyone know if they are having an after Christmas sale.” 6:49:22 PM 12/26/01 “Yes, and it's a doozy (sp?). At least the online sale is.” 6:50:04 PM 12/26/01 “is it online already?” 6:53:03 PM 12/26/01 “Look at the rei banner ad.” 6:54:07 PM 12/26/01 “now that really was a stupid question with the ad right on the same page - sorry” 6:54:31 PM 12/26/01 “LMAO! You came to the right place!!!” 6:56:03 PM 12/26/01 “This shows how often people pay attention to the banners on web sites.” 6:57:28 PM 12/26/01 “That one ALWAYS catches my attention. It's the gear addict manifesting itself. I can't help it, I have to at least window shop.” 6:58:58 PM 12/26/01 Backpacks “I'm new to backpacking -gonna be upfront and say I'm overweight tho in pretty decent health shape - BP is low, sugar is low, cholestorol is borderline. Anyway, I'm looking for information on backpacks good for women and would appreciate any help you can give. My dad talks to me about things but would like other ideas too for things he may not have thought of. Thanks in advance for your help! 8-) Jodi” 7:00:02 PM 12/26/01 “I use a Kelty Trekker for women. It's an external frame. It's very versatile, very adjustable, and available in different sizes. Mine is kinda old, I don't know if they're still available or not. I really like it and have not even considered replacing it.” 7:02:44 PM 12/26/01 “Speaking of really good sales, got my Sierra Trading Post sale catalog today. Prices like that should be illegal, but I'm glad they're not!” 7:06:32 PM 12/26/01 “Good luck. And if you find a pack suited for a small framed woman, let me know.” 7:21:17 PM 12/26/01 “A Spork is a distant cousin of the endangered Snipe. Snipes, native to only North America, are nearly extint, while Sporks have a thriving population in Paupa New Guinea. In about 5 billion BC, proir to the continental shift, Snipes and Sporks were essentially the same species. However, after billions of years, the species split due to climate changes and inbreeding. Sporks, on average weigh 20 lbs more than Snipes, tend to be more aggressive, and are mainly fruit eaters. The only known Spork in North America can be seen at the GEAR SLUT Zoo. However this Spork is entirely different from the Spork found in the neather reaches of the south pacific. The North American Spork (AKA Gear Slut) is a cross between a human spazz and a dork, while the souhtern pacific version is a winged mammal. I hope this answers your question.” 7:29:35 PM 12/26/01 “I've seen a Mountainsmith on a fellow TTer that looked like it carried well and was light, The Kelty Coyote 3200 is a good starter for women and young people, and I've seen the Dana Bridger fit well in the store but it was pricey. I would also ditto the Kelty Trekker as a good one too. I have the men's version for trips where I perform as the pack mule - it can handle the load better than my internal. Lots of good gear out there. Just gotta go out and buy it...then replace it...then upgrade it...then rationalize yet another one somehow...” 7:33:21 PM 12/26/01 “I am sure glad I found this site. I knew I hadn't seen many snipes around here in a long time. Think we can go to New Guinea and bring some Sporks back kinda like the way they brought the Elk back to the GSMNP. We need to bring back. I am sure Congress will back this endeavor. They always have money to spend on nothing.” 7:36:19 PM 12/26/01 Desperately need a new pack “Hey thanks Rockbutt. Buck. whatever. It would have taken hours (or at least minutes) to find that review on the web.” 8:49:10 PM 12/26/01 “The titanium spork looked cool but lexan is still much lighter.” 9:15:34 PM 12/26/01 Are You Sure It Ain't Called "FOON"? “Just don't cut yer lips when eating with a spife.” 9:18:27 PM 12/26/01 “Put down that fife, Barney!” 9:38:10 PM 12/26/01 “LOL people......I am very happy with the backpack I have and for what I payed for it to me it was a steal......:)” 9:58:49 PM 12/26/01 “heheehee i actually knew a guy by the nick name of rock butt on my first bp trip ever!” 11:33:29 PM 12/26/01 “had some really firm buns huh vyxtryx” 7:21:53 AM 12/27/01 “rock butt? is that another name for hard @ss?” 9:00:32 AM 12/27/01 “Either that or he fell down a lot.” 9:01:07 AM 12/27/01 “beware the spork if you are eating out of ziploc bags. they poke holes. a spoon is a less violent alternative.” 11:33:02 AM 12/27/01 “Get chopsticks-slurp the soup!” 2:21:46 PM 12/27/01
