Hilleberg "Akto"
Hey There TTers. Hope all had good Holidays.

I am almost sure one of you out there uses this tent. I think it is Snow Nymph.

Am leaning toward one of my own, any comments??

Mnutz and Laqtis own Hilleberg Akto tents. Laqtis just got his for Christmas, but Mnutz has been using his for a while now, I believe. I have a Nallo 2, but have no experience with the Akto.

I've had my Akto a little over a year.

I can safely say, this is the tent I waited all my life for. It rocks in all conditions, environments, and situations. I can show ya some pictures of it in action if ya like.

I have finally gotten my hands on this tent and it has been well worth the wait. As soon as I opened the package, it was set up in the backyard. Both the inner and outer tent go up at the same time with ease. The whole thing went up in less than 5 minutes. It has not snowed too much where I live (SE MIchigan), but the temp was down around the mid 20's. No problems. The guyline system is a lot better than I thought it would be. From what had read, the Akto needed a lot of room to be guyed out. I don't know if it is a different system, but it did not need as much room as I thought. It gives you some options as well. You can undo the inner tent and have room for two people (you'd better like them!). The seams are very tight. I gots the green outer with the yellow inner. I hope to try it out this weekend in real snowy conditions. If you don't mind spending the dough, I think it is well worth it. If you get a chance to see one in person, that might help you as well.

Did you know an "Atko" is a mackerel fish of the Alaska region?

Mackerel
I did not know that. It means "alone" in the Sami tongue, which is what they named it for.
