A Fiskars hatchet. Very light as far as hatchets go. Priced like it was made out of gold. I'll bring it on winter trips when I want a campfire. Awesome tool.”

“Smileygirl, I can relate. My family doesn't get it. The funniest thing, was my in-laws. They didn't listen to a word when I told them about my backpacking trips. Then some friends of theirs were visiting this Christmas and going on and on about hiking and camping in PA. All of a sudden they are looking at the map, asking a million questions, and wanting to see my PictureTrail site for the photos. It was great! The best part is that they offered to watch the kids this spring and fall, so that my husband and I can go backpacking together on longer trips than we would attempt with the kids. Happy New Year!”

I stole a Nalgene fair share cup, MSR mug mate (coffee filter) and a bottle of wine from Lelanau winery (upper Michigan) from Thinkbubbelz. Lots of good gear gifts got given, stolen and gotten.
Birch got a toilet paper holder that's a waterproof drybag. It's actually really cool, has a holder for the paper roll so it'll spin, and a line to hook around your neck or on a tree branch or something to hold the bag off the ground, taped seams and the whole works. It's the second toilet paper dispensor he's gotten in a week, think it means something?”
