I have to disagree, its just that spring and fall are very short, and not quite what most people are used to. Breakup was my least favorite time, snow disappeared and mud appeared. In early to mid April I always got in a great 50F ski in the White Mountains. And I loved sitting and exploring in the woods on the Tanana River in the fall, waiting for the moose that never appeared.”

“I lived on Farmers Loop for a year, above Farmers Loops for 3 and near Chena Hot Springs Road and the Steese Highway for 3. Would have stayed forever but the family couldn't handle it.”

“I lived in North Pole for three years. I moved to a little log cabin in Salcha about ten miles from Eielson away from Fairbanks. I do know what you are talking about the cold. We have had a good winter so far. Only -40 for a week and then it went to 30 above for a few days and now it is about zero or so. Did you ever get a moose. I got one a couple of years ago by skinny dicks if you where that is. The whole states is a awesome area if it was not for the cold a$$ winter.”

“I only hunted two seasons, never saw one in season. Only saw them in my backyard off season. Had much better luck fishing. Kings, silvers, pike and grayling.

Coldest we had during my seven years was 50-60 below in town for a couple of weeks. Living in the hills kept that to a manageable 30-50 below. ;)”

“I think the university server that houses the Photo Page website has been down for about a day. This seems to happen most during breaks and weekends when they reduce the computer staff. Too bad because school starts tomorrow and there are a lot of students trying to surf the class schedules on-line for open classes.

Cal Poly had their 54th Float in the Rose Parade! It was entry #54 in the parade as well. I noticed ABC cut away for a commercial and skipped it again this year. Their Rose Parade coverage sucks. Our local stations covered it.
