solitary hiker - I enjoy Kostrizer also.

In celebration of the New Year, last night we tried Midas Touch Ancient Ale. It is a reproduction of the 2700 year old celebratory brew found in King Midas' (the king that inspired the legends) tomb. Brewed by Dogfish Head Brewery, with barley, honey, white muscat grapes and saffron. Great stuff! 9% alcohol.

Biz - glad ya checked the photo page!

Widmer Hefeweizen. Good, strong wheat beer, served out of the tap in a micro-brewery. Use it as an escape from the wet, drizzly winter nights in Portland and I'm in heaven - I need to move back.

I'm not normally a fan of lighter beers, but I've recently found Corona with a slice of lime to be irresistable. Cheers!

Beyond that, I'm rather fond of Terrapin Ale of late -- a hoppy microbrew out of Athens, GA. But I do enjoy a pint of Harpoon IPA often too. :)

Belgian Beer
The best beer in the world, and the most breweries per sq/mile are found in Belgium. My favorite is Duvel, but there are many.

Rockman,
Hefeweizen rocks! Especially Widmer Hefeweizen.

Australians don't drink Foster's Lager much. They laugh at Americans because we think it's so Australian. Good overseas marketing, I guess.

I think my father would kill me if I didn't claim budweiser as my personal favorite. Considering he's ben shoving the stuff off on me since i was like 2, before that it was black berry brandy to curb my teething. I am really starting to like samuel adams though....

Shipyard(it's brewed in Maine)....there's so many different types. There's the summer ale(thats summah), winter ale(winta), pale ale, and more I can't think of right now....guess I need to try more. Then there's always a Carona with a lime is always nice. I used be just a Michelob light drinker, but don't mind trying something different as long as it's not a really dark beer. pppphht

I posted this to the "Great Bears" thread by mista
Coor's Lite is fine with me when I drink beer..just in the summer.

However, that being said, there is a place in Moab, Utah called Eddie McStiff's that brews their own beer. The owner/bartender scorned my request for a Coor's Lite and looked upon my me and my request as demeaning to his place of business and his product (he told me so). He served me what he termed was Lite beer, but he wouldn't tell me how he..as he said..."blended" the beer...probably added some water to a pilsner or something, but if you're ever in Moab, and if you ever hit Eddie McStiff's (good food, cheap prices, GREAT beer and friendly employees), and if you like lite beer, ask for a Coor's Lite and see what happens....you won't regret it.

I normally drink Negra Modelo or Dos Equis Amber. Dogwood Stout is an incredible beer, but only available around Atlanta.

Sometimes I have marvelous dreams of a pub I went to in Greenville, North Carolina that had 40 beers on tap. :)
