In celebration of the New Year, last night we tried Midas Touch Ancient Ale. It is a reproduction of the 2700 year old celebratory brew found in King Midas' (the king that inspired the legends) tomb. Brewed by Dogfish Head Brewery, with barley, honey, white muscat grapes and saffron. Great stuff! 9% alcohol. Biz - glad ya checked the photo page!” 10:00:11 AM 1/01/02 “I love my domestic brew Tecate light. lol Mexican piss H20” 10:38:14 AM 1/01/02 “The one in my hand” 11:01:06 AM 1/01/02 “Kaliq on the Bahama beaches.” 11:45:17 AM 1/01/02 “Corona is Mexican Coors.” 9:00:49 AM 1/02/02 “Wild Goose Pale Ale... ....brewed in Tarpland, Maryland Clipper City I.P.A......from nasty old Baltimore” 1:32:12 PM 1/02/02 “Widmer Hefeweizen. Good, strong wheat beer, served out of the tap in a micro-brewery. Use it as an escape from the wet, drizzly winter nights in Portland and I'm in heaven - I need to move back.” 4:11:24 PM 1/02/02 “I'm not normally a fan of lighter beers, but I've recently found Corona with a slice of lime to be irresistable. Cheers!” 6:24:40 PM 6/27/03 “Make mine Mug Root Beer.” 6:33:02 PM 6/27/03 “Corona Light is veryyyy good!!! I also like this one beer that I have, Wild Goose Oatmeal Stout.” 7:46:24 PM 6/27/03 corona with lime... “ROFLMAO!!! you all are such gringos....hahahaha...go to mexico and you will never see any local put lime in a beer...only in America... and once again, a thread designed to bind ones horizons to limitations...pick this or pick that...how limiting all this favorite stuff is...To quote CMB...its all good! cheers...Im gonna go have a coors now. hic...” 9:52:30 PM 6/27/03 “Right on, Stikmon! Now give me a Hefenwizen. I can't spell it but I like it.” 9:55:23 PM 6/27/03 “I had a couple of pints of Kilt Lifter Scottish Ale at Four Peaks Brewery in Phoenix last night. mmmm... mmm....” 10:01:24 PM 6/27/03 My favorite beer... “COLD Beyond that, I'm rather fond of Terrapin Ale of late -- a hoppy microbrew out of Athens, GA. But I do enjoy a pint of Harpoon IPA often too. :)” 10:09:07 PM 6/27/03 “ Plzeňský Prazdroj ![]() 10:18:10 PM 6/27/03 Belgian Beer “The best beer in the world, and the most breweries per sq/mile are found in Belgium. My favorite is Duvel, but there are many.” 10:31:07 PM 6/27/03 “also on average the strongest beer in the world.” 10:31:43 PM 6/27/03 “Anyone ever sample a Molsen XXX (triple X) A six pack of this will knock anyone on their a$$.” 10:19:37 AM 6/28/03 “Yeah. The percentage isn't much higher than Molson Canadian tho. Belgian beers tipically run between 8 and 17%. Now THAT will knock anyone on their a$$!” 10:04:51 PM 6/28/03 “Sierrapacktrip, you have good taste. When I was in Belgium, I thought I had died and gone to beer heaven.” 10:09:37 PM 6/28/03 “I had a Trappist Ale once that was like drinking nectar.” 10:30:05 PM 6/28/03 “Rockman, Hefeweizen rocks! Especially Widmer Hefeweizen. Australians don't drink Foster's Lager much. They laugh at Americans because we think it's so Australian. Good overseas marketing, I guess.” 12:39:00 AM 6/29/03 “Anyone here a fan of Sierra Nevada Pale Ale or Anchor Steam?” 1:23:59 AM 6/29/03 mmmmmmmmmm duff beer “I think my father would kill me if I didn't claim budweiser as my personal favorite. Considering he's ben shoving the stuff off on me since i was like 2, before that it was black berry brandy to curb my teething. I am really starting to like samuel adams though....” 3:15:01 AM 6/29/03 “I had a Sierra Nevada Pale Ale last night, and there nothing better than an Anchor Steam with some fresh San Francisco bread and seafood.” 7:56:14 AM 6/29/03 “Sierra Nevada Pale Ale for me. I dig root beer, too, 'Dude.” 7:59:18 AM 6/29/03 “oddly enough birch beer with a scoop of ice cream....” 8:15:26 AM 6/29/03 “Shipyard(it's brewed in Maine)....there's so many different types. There's the summer ale(thats summah), winter ale(winta), pale ale, and more I can't think of right now....guess I need to try more. Then there's always a Carona with a lime is always nice. I used be just a Michelob light drinker, but don't mind trying something different as long as it's not a really dark beer. pppphht” 8:27:44 AM 6/29/03 “A nice mild Newcastle, or a Froach Scottish Heather ale.” 1:40:55 PM 6/29/03 I posted this to the "Great Bears" thread by mista “Coor's Lite is fine with me when I drink beer..just in the summer. However, that being said, there is a place in Moab, Utah called Eddie McStiff's that brews their own beer. The owner/bartender scorned my request for a Coor's Lite and looked upon my me and my request as demeaning to his place of business and his product (he told me so). He served me what he termed was Lite beer, but he wouldn't tell me how he..as he said..."blended" the beer...probably added some water to a pilsner or something, but if you're ever in Moab, and if you ever hit Eddie McStiff's (good food, cheap prices, GREAT beer and friendly employees), and if you like lite beer, ask for a Coor's Lite and see what happens....you won't regret it.” 2:15:08 PM 6/29/03 “I normally drink Negra Modelo or Dos Equis Amber. Dogwood Stout is an incredible beer, but only available around Atlanta. Sometimes I have marvelous dreams of a pub I went to in Greenville, North Carolina that had 40 beers on tap. :)” 3:10:02 PM 6/29/03 “A blend. Black and Tan's (Guiness and Bass)” 8:27:19 AM 6/30/03 “Cold.” 8:37:08 AM 6/30/03 “Milwakuees Best is my all time favorite!! Or Old Milwaukee! And a Corona, but I don't need no steeenkin' lime!” 9:21:16 AM 6/30/03 “Old Milwaukee, for when the good beer's gone, and your guests are too drunk to notice or care...” 9:27:27 AM 6/30/03 “LOL” 9:28:15 AM 6/30/03 “PBR me ASAP” 9:28:47 AM 6/30/03 “Grolsch is okay” 9:28:57 AM 6/30/03 “Wild Goose India Pale Ale from Frederick, Maryland Clipper City Pale Ale, Baltimore, Maryland” 10:21:48 AM 6/30/03
