Any Chicago area hikers out there?

“I'm stuck in Chicago, with little free time, wondering if there is anyone else in the same boat?”

“I used to live just west of Chicago. I remember that it was a tough place for hiking - much tougher than Detroit. But if you liked to bike there were lots of cool trails. I even drove to Iowa sometimes just to hike.

But there are at least two people that I know of here who hang out in the Chicago area.”

“What can you tell me about the town/area of Berwyn? Is it nice?, safe? Anything to avoid? Anything a must see?”

“I live in the southwest suburb of Chicago, and I used to be one of the prosecutor in the Bridgeview courthouse that handled Berwyn cases. It is a blue colar town with the normal level of murders and drug dealing. Nothing is out of the ordinary to see in Berwyn, but the must sees for Chicago include the museum of Science and Industry, the Field Museum. The planetarium and aquarium are not too bad either.

There are at least another half dozen Chicago area backpackers that live within a hours drive of Chicago.”

“Haven't heard from Ruby----I don't know if chesterton got hit. WK had an F2 go through his town. I saw a funnel but little damage besides power outage (still out in Portage)
WK's town got demolished.”

“I'm fine here. It was pretty dicey here, but not as bad as Griffith for sure. Apparently the sirens went off, but we didn't hear them over the air conditioner so we never went to the basement.”
