As far as the TT hike this past weekend, we had a lot of old friends there, and made a bunch of new ones.

I would name everyone, but I will most likely forget someone, so I can let them chime in sooner or later.

We ended up doing 18 miles or so, except for me and Rad who walked a couple sections like at least twice.

It was incredibly cold, but everyone brought good gear, and we all had a really good time. There are some good stories to tell, and hopefully will have most of them written up soon, or at least you will hear about some of them on here.

Oh and the correct spelling of my trailname is "Elrond". And what are you guys talking about, my Shasta no lie is 5900 cu in fully packed. I dont know what you are talking about overloaded, I only had 12 pounds of water on my back climbing up Springer. Ok, so I do have a reputation for bringing a heck of a lot of gear, but I am seeing a counselor for it and am trying to improve.

And I paid the price for the mileage I put on. Like Madman, I got a cold before I went hiking last week and it blasted me when I got back on Monday. My foot is still hurting but I am hoping to get back on my training as soon as I ditch this cold.

It was really great meeting you guys, we should have gotten Millipede's email if he even has one? I think someone else said it would have been interesting to hear him explain it all :0). Anyways back to work, good to be on board, you guys are a trip!”

How was the rest of the trip? I had a great time, sorry to bail out on you thow! I met up with Mike, the other Mike and I told him to let you know I was hitching aride back. My leg was shot and between Joshes #&%!$ing I just decided to end at the falls. Im going this weekend to finish the hike thow. NOT with josh thow! He's a cool guy and all but not used to the trail yet!(ROOKIE) He is going to go on the March trip only if he works out, so he should be good by then.

Did you feel Joshes pack, it weighed abt. 45-60 lbs. I about took a #&%!$ trying to lift it! He learned his lesson on weight.

I took some crappie pills from that guy at the shelter w/ the fire and thats what also made me poop out! Owell ill talk to you soon and Ill be ready for March.

I would like to do something in March, I cant take an entire week off of work so time will be a factor. I think you guys mentioned a possible 5-day trip the week of the 17th and Sherpa was talking about a 3-day smokies trip that I am interested in. We'll have to see. Finances have me reconsidering my Rainier trip but it will depend... I definately would like to hook up with y'all again.

“Guys, I had a blast on the trip. It was great to share the trail with such experienced hikers. I picked up tips from probably everyone of you—the biggest tip being the reminder to get out more.

And I promise to get my boot fiasco worked out before I try wringing any real mileage out of them again. Gawd my feet hurt—first time I ever remember baby-stepping down a trail. It was like a perpetual game of “Simon sez”. And he turned out to be Satan himself.”

“Some of the more interesting “trail knowledge” I picked up on:
1- Forget what you know…”lay it down”
2- Don’t F$%& w/ Nashville…
3- White Gas is “altitude challenged”
4- A full moon is “NOT”, I repeat “NOT” adequate for hiking.
5- Drinking beer in the woods is not a good warm-up for the AT.
6- Other people drinking beer in the woods is great entertainment on the AT.
7- Do not sleep on the beersicle!!!
