Arm the Homeless

ATH (Arm The Homeless) Empowerment Crews will be in area malls and shopping centers across the US this weekend (January 5th and 6th) to perform outreach, fund raising, firearm safety training and to distribute donated firearms and ammunition to local homeless people. If you have any firearms that you are not using, please come out this weekend and make a donation to this worthy cause.

Your gift of a firearm or monetary donation will bring an unfortunate person the peace of mind that comes with carrying a weapon. It will also give the sense of self-respect due anyone who exercises his God-given, Constitutional right to keep and bear arms. That's what Arm The Homeless is all about - making sure any American who wants a gun has one, whether they can afford it or not.

These people are not only homeless, they are powerless. Because they have no money they are treated as though they have no rights. Government does not help them, the 'charitable' public ignores them or condemns them and the police harass them and destroy their makeshift dwellings. As you know, firearms are the “great equalizer”. A homeless person with a gun is just as powerful as his wealthy or politically powerful counterpart.

We ask that persons concerned about the plight of their homeless neighbors make sure their contributions go to legitimate and responsible service providers. At ATH, 100 percent of contributions will be used to provide desperately needed protection for our country's homeless. We anticipate strong reactions from the public.

Collections will begin at noon at malls and larger shopping centers in most major metropolitan areas. Please look for the large red shopping carts with the Arm The Homeless logo emblazoned on the side.

Thank you in advance for your generous support for this truly worthy cause.

I don't know how much experience you have with homeless people, but the fact is they are generally mentally ill, and that is why they are homeless. What they need are homes, not guns, and what you're doing is irresponsible. A lot of people are going to end up getting killed because of your foolishness.

You're a bunch of #&%!$ing idiots, you know? I don't fear my government, I fear idiots like you.

Arm the Homeless requires all firearm recipients to sign a form stating they are not convicted felons.

Homeless are selected for the program on the basis of need, mental and emotional stability, and potential value to society at large.

actually, i can see the silver lining to such a dumb idea. i hear a lot of people talking about homeless people like they are just lazy or something, when in fact, as Violin said, many of them are mentally ill. something like this story might make some people realize that, i guess...

While the sad truth be told that the homeless are mentally ill, it's also equally true that most firearms owners are also mentally ill. This is why I'm supporting legislation to create a national ID card which will require mental examinations for all Americans.

Violin said --

To the contrary, self-preservation is the first imperative of any animal. Security precedes productivity. Once guns are in the hands of the homeless they can turn down the survival instinct and begin Investing In America.

I Love News Trolls
Hume Hoaxed

Fox News anchor Brit Hume and the online editions of the Wall Street Journal and ESPN were the apparent victims of a hoax when they recently reported that the animal rights group PETA had outfitted 400 deer in Ohio with the kind of orange vests worn by hunters, according to Wednesday's Columbus Dispatch. Their reports went on to tell how a Guy Lockey, owner of a sporting-goods store in Youngstown, countered by offering a reward to hunters who bagged the deer and brought him the vests. As of Jan. 8, 308 vests had been recorded, the reports said. Checking them out, the Dispatch concluded that although they originally carried an AP dateline, "the wire service never posted such a story. There is no Guy Lockey in Youngstown. PETA isn't outfitting deer with hunting vests. It's not even deer season."
