It sure feels good after a long day of hiking. As far as tempurature goes; that water was probably snow and ice less than 24 hours ago! I've only been up there in late spring and early fall, never in the middle of summer. At those times of the yr. It's about 50 yards from the lake shore and you can hike right up to it. ( Although not too close). There's another, smaller geyser next to it that actually went off while we were waiting for Rustic to erupt!
