My God, Gforce - What a terrible thing to happen, to your family! I'm glad they're okay.

Ya, it was short notice, about the Yoho trip. I wasn't really sure what stage I'd be at, with it. What with taking off, for Paloza and all. There will be more!

WOW Gforce that doesn't sound good!! I glad to hear nothin really bad happened other than the mugging. LOL that did sound to good but you get the picture. I thougth you lived in a quiet town? It must have been the heat!!!

OM OOOOOOMMMMM! You're a sweet woman. And it was a real pleasure to meet you after all this time. Gald you made it home safe and sound. I'm kinda P.O.ed that I didn't hike slower since I missed out on what sounded like some awesome pre-camp meals. 'Namaste' woman!! till we meet again.

I'm working on trying to get my pictures up for viewing, I got some really spectacular photos , like we all do, its just that I had them placed on to a 3.5 floppy and the quality is just so crappy I figured that I could get better quality if I was to scan them. But now since my HD crashed a few months ago I have been unable to install my scanner properly and I 'm having trouble locating a Twain Driver that will work. I forget how I did it the first time so I'll have to bust out the direction, typical man thing, and try it their way. I hope to get something up in the following days.

All the meds in the world can do nothing for the PTD I'm still feeling. I 've tried to contact the Red Lodge Paper and the F.S. to see about getting some extra limelight shed about our adventure and I have yet to hear anything. I guess good news is no news!

Sorry, but I just went through 400 posts and I never did understand what happened to Prowler. Would someone explain.

I just got back to work after a week plus at Leech Lake in MN (aptly named).

Glad to hear that everyone enjoyed the trip. I'll get back later. I have too much work to get caught up on now.

He keeled over sometime that morning. There is an array of stories and personal takes on what happened and its cause. That thread has long been pulled from viewing. In the end it all came down to his body lacking vital elements and minerals and us saving the forest and everyone making it home soundly.

Awesome trip!! Chief you're one cool dude!! I'm bringin' my sticks next time. Thanks for the brewdaddies!! Say Hey to Gordon; Man, what a character!!!

Gordon, What Can I Say
Gordon is my main man. He has always been the kindest person I know. Yes, he is a bit rough on the edges, but I know I can count on him for anything. I long for the day that the two of us can get back on the trail. We have a couple of others who go woth us, but they just don't click as well as the two of us.

Never went fishing. Did play some Rocky Mountain Golf, real golf, Bochi Ball (sp), floated on the lake next to the raft with the beer coolers, swam, and generally just hung out with family. All-in-all a real good trip, except for the drive.

Chief - Did you at least eat some of the walleyes for which Leech Lake is known? I'm envious cause I've been there(Lived in the Twin Cities area). Also spent beer and fishing time at nearby, Woman Lake, Little Boy Lake, etc. Had relatives at Pequot Lake.

sarabelle Glad that you two had a good trip and did not get into moos trouble.

Nowslimmer, No one went fishing, and they haven't in quite some time. Apparently the fishing has gone way downhill.

Depending on who you talk to, the reasons vary greatly. Most think it is because the indians are exercising their subsistence rights. They can take as much as they want, when they want. They even spear the females when they are on their spawning beds. My fathe-in-law finally sold his boat because of the poor fishing there.

p.s. I grew up in Cloquet, MN

Return to the scene of the crime
Well gang, I'm off for my own personal palloza. My plane leaves in the morning, and I'll be hitting the East Rosebud trail (from the Alpine side) on Wed. morning. We'll be out 7 nights.

I'll let you know if the "TT" is still in the snowbank by Windy Lake.

Don't forget to post a DETAILED trip report for Montanapalooza 2002, version 2.0. Version 3.0 (me, dad, son) starts 4 weeks from yesterday, so I will be particularly interested in changing conditions like skeeters, water levels at creek crossings, etc. HAVE A GREAT TIME!!!

Sarabelle - I hope you didn't reinjure your leg doing all that hiking. I also hope you aren't jealous that I said your boyfriend was the cutest guy of the bunch. Give him a smooch for me!

Gojo - I got the word from TFR-Laurie that she wants to have your children. Many of them.

Jerbear - pleasure to meet you! We must hike together again sometime. I hope you manage to stay unemployed for many more productive years!

A lady was killed atop Kennesaw Mountain (Natl Battlefield) a couple days ago. Her husband and dog, who were nearby(?) survived w/o a scratch. Go figure...

After being struck by lightning, golfer Lee Travino stated that he would wield his two iron in subsequent thunder-boomers. His logic?
"Not even God can hit a two iron".
LOL!

Being blown into the lake, standing up soaking wet, then being struck by lightning?

Hey Y'all
Chief, Jerber, Gojo, Sarabelle, Om -

It was good that y'all checked in after your post Monnyloosa trips. I'm glad everyone made it home safely.

Just re-reading alot of these posts brought a much needed smile to my face today. I am still having post-hike funker blues :-(

g-force, sorry to hear about the girls. I know how close you are to them and you must have felt violated also. Thank God nothing more serious happened. Material things we can replace, human beings we can't.

Well, I'm headed to Dallas tomorrow to do an ambulance ride out in the big Metropolis. I'll post a "trip report" when I get back from the adventure!!

We're back!!!
We’re back! It’ll take awhile to catch up. I dropped 20 rolls of film (36 exp) off this afternoon, which I’ll pick up on Tuesday. I leave tomorrow morning for the Sierras to meet up with a group to dayhike Mt Whitney (14,497') on Monday.

We had a great time in Montana! A trip to remember! Thanks Aero for all you did to get us together on this trip, and for the use of your cabin after. Thanks to everyone who contributed to making this trip happen!

My biceps, triceps and deltoids were pretty sore for a few days from carrying Bearikades of water to douse the fire. Lauren (the rangerette) said we did a great job putting it out. Also, the ranger who brought the horses in for Prowler commented on what a great job we did putting it out.

My Marmot precip pants failed me in the Montana rain! I bought another pair of Precip Pants in Cody for the Winds, but they’re a size too big. Big was better than wet.

We saw 2 grizzlies, a moose and cub after we left Cody! We saw another moose and beavers at Big Sandy! And pronghorn on the way home!

Thanks to OM for getting us to Cooke City, and then setting up the shuttle for the next trip. It took us a lot longer to get there (meeting time was 6pm, and we got there at midnight/2:30am). We really didn’t expect you to be there since we were sooo late and were just going to resort to using our thumbs to get to Big Sandy. Glad you were able to do your trip in the Winds after we delayed you. Montanapalooza pics coming soon (after Tuesday). Winds Trip report will be posted after I get my notes together.

Gojo, ok if we use your patch for the webpage?

Aero, ok if we use your trip report(s) for our webpage? (The underlined titles under the thumbnails have trip reports).

Jerbear, ok if we post the full moon?

Hodgeman, I tried some fruit bars on the WY trip, and IT ROCKS! on the trail. Could you send me a box or 2 and let me know how much it is?

Oh yea, as for speed limits, WY has speed laws . . . . . After we hiked out yesterday, we stopped for lunch, then I got a speeding ticket 45 minutes out of Pinedale.

Thanks Hodgeman for getting all our albums in one place! It took all night to look at everyone’s pics. Can’t wait to see how mine came out! Yikes! Its 1:20am! I’ll post more when I get back Tues!

Great meeting all of you!!
