I did the other day. Stroking the Holley at the light. It changes the RPM's drop below norm and the clutch goes out. GAS!! POOF!!!! Bad timing. Grind the starter. Pissed, so I had to bark it into 3th just to learn it one more time. Total Morgasm !!!

here's what i've got
starting at the boulder creek campground on the north side of the wilderness and ending up near knox lake on the south side of the wilderness (can't remember the name of the campground, but it's south and a little west of where we start...) anyway, it looks like a good route of mixed easy and hard days - a couple of nice lakes, and couple of stream crossings (maybe more!), and a couple of higher-altitude passes (10,000-11,000 feet)
simer190
3:38:49 PM

and i'll be out there towards the end of the month... 25-27 somewhere in there

Jerbear - there has been a major change in our plans. Please call us at home.

If anyone talks to Jerbear, would you please pass this along?

Newgirl - I will not be in Red Lodge after all. If you'll e-mail me, I'll see what I can do from here.

Everyone thinks i am cuh-raze EEE
to go to montana while i am in the middle of my home demolition!...but..oh well...that is the way it is.....when i planned on montanapalooza, I had not even seen this place....so...what can i say.....at least i wont need to find someone to care for the dogs....between the builder and roofer and plumber, someone will be out here everday while i am gone ..:)

Crazy Mike! somehow, i cant imagine your shatkti (energy) contained in a bivy...LOL!..... i was going to bring the hennessey hammock, but i just dont think i want to worry 'bout finding trees to hang myself from...so i am bringing a lightweight solo tent. it weighs 3lb 7 oz. .....a pound more than the hammock...but...if it comes a storm, (and i recall a couple of good ones out west in july).....i dont mind the extra weight to ride it out in....plus, you want to get GOOD rest and SLEEP...so you can jump out bright and early and get on with the day! so, I would say bring what you feel snug in!

i was supposed to be moving stuff out of the war zone for crew tomorrow, but got my gear all lined up and dehydrated final meals instead......priorities!...
this is going to be a grand journey.......even more than a cowboy, i am wishing to spot some meese,..i hope we dont scare all the wild things away!
ya'll be safe in your travels on the way to this convergence. i can hardly keep still...

Om - Of course you're crazeee!!
That's why you will be in such great company on this trip with your fellow TT-ers!

When I tell people I am getting on a plane to go backpacking in a state I've never been, to live in the woods with people I've never met and stay at their houses..well, they think I have gone WAY over the edge!!

So, what's their point? They're just jealous because they are EXISTING and we, mah dear-ah, are LIVING life to the fullest!!

Remember, if you're not living on the edge you're taking up too much space!!

Greetings from my vacation in Seattle. Man, it sure is a lot cooler up here. I've done a little hiking here and it has been great!! One question that was asked of me regarding my Montana trip was "are there any cancel Christmas sections of the trail?" Meaning, are there any places on the trail where it is narrow and steep and one wrong step and your family is canceling Christmas. I said I don't know, but I can find out. I may have someone interested in coming with me. Are there any places where someone with a small fear of heights would have big problems?

H of Bc, the first night Aero is looking at Bald Knob/Ouzel area, 8.5 miles from the trailhead. Night 2 & 3 at Fossil Lake. I believe that's 1.5 miles from Bald Knob, leaving plenty of time for fishing, exploring, photography, etc. Night 4 will be at Rainbow Lake, leaving a 7.5 mile hike out to the trailhead the final day. That 7.5 miles is all down, but far from easy.

I'm loading my pack right now and making a "FINAL" determination on what's going. ;-)

Has Anybody Else Heard From Prowker?
I was on the golf course on the 4th of July when my cell phone rang. It was Prowler. He tells me he is in Yellowstone and was wondering if he could hook up at my place until the Montanapalooza on Sunday. I told him the hike wasn't for another week. I don't think he believed me at first. I thought he was going to show up in Cody on Friday, but I haven't heard from him since.

Has anybody (Aero, Geezr, Newgirl) heard from him? I told him I could point out some hikes to him. After all, he has 30 days off for this thing.

OOPS!!! sounds like he is early.

Hey Aero!! I gonna try to ship my stove sometime today or tomorrow. Just bring it to the airport if you are still planning on meeting Navi and myself. Please!

Hey any of you folks that have not left yet, do any of you have extra hiking poles or old ski poles I might be able to borrow. If not Aero expect a funny long package to accompany my stove package. Cause all I got are some old ski poles that I hike with.
DO any of the outfitters out there rent them, you think?
