MMmmmmm... I love denver omlettes. My kids usually just get a bowl of cereal, or some toast.

Laurel wouldn't touch her breakfast; a scrambled egg with melted cheese and sweet pepper relish that I know she likes. After that battle ended, she started begging for grits. Guess what she's having for lunch.

XL, I did the same thing for my son today. Last night he requested biscuits and gravy, which I have never made in my life. But this morning I tried my hand at it and, voila!, it wasn't too shabby. (Gotta love google.)

Ruby you ever try Pioneer Gravy mix?

My mornings are the short period of peace in my day. I get up, take the pups out, get the paper, make breakfast, have a cup of coffee with breakfast...then take breakfast and coffee to grumpy....(LOL). Then I get the kids up and get them fed.

Gravy MIX? For shame XL.
Sausage grease
flour
milk
pepper
sausage crumbles

Gravy.
Made in the pan that fried the sausage. Scrape pan well while making the gravy, and not at all while making the sausage.

No mix. I made it from scratch. Jon came over this afternoon. He works nights, so it was breakfast time for him. He had four biscuits and gravy and pronounced it "fantastic." He said I made it the northern way to which I said, "huh?" He said I was very heavy on the sausage, which was a good thing.

Well done Ruby.
Did you make sure to listen to everything he had to say before speaking, and keep the house clean and quiet? LOL! JK

But of course. His thoughts are way more important than mine.

Spanish tube meat! LOL!

Someone gave me this tube of weird sausage meat called Chorizo and instructed me on the proper way to cook it. I squeezed some out in a skillet and fried it like hamburger for a bit and then poured in two eggs and half a fresh jalapeños. I put it on a couple toasted tortillas with cheese. WOW! Great breakfast!

Nigal, even I don't put every piece of weird meat someone gives me in my mouth! Slut.

Chorizo makes a great "Mexican" pizza!

We used to keep a can of "Potted Possum" (certainly had to be a joke item) on the shelf in our field office. The story was that when we started thinking about opening it up we knew it was time for lunch.

For Laurel; low sugar fruit loops. Its what she wanted and Daddy got it for her. Me? Leftover homemade blueberry tarts. They're better after they've sat for a couple of days. Plus a red bull and a vitamin.
