“Yes, we went to the Vandy game. We indulged at Blackstone, Flying Saucer, and Wild Horse Saloon. (I had to practice my two-step.) We tried hard to go to Seanache (sp? and is that your bar), but Azimuth and I were too drunk to remember the name of the bar and were asking the wrong people on the street where it was at. So... my Dad and my good Irish friend Pat Gillis decided we would call it a night. I fell asleep in the hotel with two slices of pizza in each hand. LOL!!!!!!

I will be going to Nashville after the holidays and will have to coordinate a time to stop in!”

“I am 98% sure we are moving. I have to decide this week.

In all liklihood, we will live east of Maryville. We want to move to Townsend.”

“Did you find a house yet? What road is it on? You will be 20 mins from my house - I live in Sevier close to the Blount County line - the base of the Chilhowee Range you break through via Miller's Cove to get to Townsend... Azimuth and I will have to welcome you East TN style! Let me know what I can do for you to make the move easier! Townsend folks are a bit clannish - they keep to themselves... something to tuck into your pocket. Smokin Joes is a good place to go in Townsend for Bbq and of course, BackPorch.”

“You got it down pat!!!! I just went to a pig roast for Halloween around 'Nooga. Folks around here know good pulled pork - that Smokin Joes usually wins the competition in Townsend ever year.

Next time you come - visit me and Azimuth if you have time - probably be too hectic, but I would love to meet you and Cottonsocks to eat or grab some brewskies in Maryville... Ewker and I ate at Uno's with some TSRA kayakers about a month ago.

BTW is the Cades Cove Camp ground open this time of yr?”

“No, they close the CaCo campground for winter. Sometimes they let backpackers camp in it though, but I don't believe they allow fires or anything. The only campgrounds that are open year round is Elkmont and...Cosby? I know Elkmont for sure cause I just camped there...”

“Smokemont - not Elk.

Two of the three major campgrounds will remain open all year. These year-round campgrounds are Cades Cove in Tennessee and Smokemont in North Carolina. Starting November 1, they will be on a self-registration basis with a reduced number of available sites. Elkmont Campground in Tennessee will remain open through the Thanksgiving weekend and will be closed on December 1.”

“I know you only wanted to converse with Smokygirl, but you can find out everything about the park at Great Smoky Mountains, including the open/close dates for Camping in the National Park. I recommend checking Roads, Trails, Campgrounds, and Picnic Areas prior to any trip to GSMNP.

“Holy Shnikies!! I got your message - my phone battery was down. I would come out to visit you as you are not far from me, but I twisted my ankle and chipped a bone so I am laid up for awhile. I want to see the pictures!!”
