“Evergreen, almost the same thing happened to me last winter. A field mouse was inside the set tracks of a X-Country ski trail. It was facing away from me and was walking away, so it didn't see/hear me glide up to it's tail. I waited a few seconds to let it get out of the track. Then I pushed it with my pole...it turned around and start screeching at me...it was quite hilarious. Finally I had to practically lift him off the track with my pole tip.”
