Not too sure about names, we have been kicking around a few.

If a girl then we were considering floral type names. Right now we like Jasmine or Laurel.

If a boy then maybe Logan. Boy names will be more difficulct. I don't have many good boy names in my family (Grover, Dewey, Virgil; I don't think so.) and in hers they are all Robert, David or James.”

OK, first thing is, never mind health insurance, what you really need is PHOTOGRAPH INSURANCE. I wish they would sell that as well. I literally spent more on pictures of the kid the first year than the delivery, shots, meds, etc.


Pointer #2. Never mind all the cutesy outfits. Get a lot of those one-piece things. The kid is going to puke all over them anyway, and if you buy the right colors, you can put them on any subsequent kids too, regardless of gender. Your family and your wife's family will be unable to resist the temptation to buy cutesy stuff. Let them, take one pic of the kid in them, then sell the stuff at a consignment store and go buy more onesies. From Goodwill.

Pointer #3: Joshman will be able to relate to this one. Never mind the Diaper Genie. If you get one as a present, sell it at the consignment store and go buy lots of plastic garbage can liners and Lysol spray. So much easier than the Diaper Genie, and trust me, you'll get used to the smell anyway. But the smell of a ripe Diaper Genie should be classified as a chemical WMD.

“Bitpusher is tooooooo funny....and he's absolutely right too. You live in Fla so all you need are t-shirts or onesies. The relatives will buy all the fancy stuff you'll need and if you're lucky, the baby girl won't fuss at the scratchyness.

Diaper Genies are a two or three handed contraction. This means that it then requires two people to change a diaper or a sanitarium restraint system for the baby. A regular diaper pail just requires a stomp with your foot.”

“HPM, I have a 7 y/o that is an absolute daddy's girl....your life will change my friend,,,,for the better.

“But be careful on counting on a girl if depending on the ultrasound. Boys are easier to recognize by the the presence of an "appendage", girls are recognized by the absence. Sometimes it gets missed.

I know of several instances where the baby shower was all pink, but the baby demanded blue!”
