We had fun getting her to school this morning; road closures due to surprisingly high flood levels. Holy cow, I'm glad we're up a big hill. This is the first time we can hear rushing water through the trees down below. Sweet.

Also, the kids aren't allowed to go to their classrooms yet, due to flooding and leaks within the school. It's a brand new school too, they got their certificate of occupancy less than a week before school opened. Everyone's gathered in the gymnasium, having a good time.Laurel's all excited to wear her new pink (not hiking) boots to school today. I figure they that since they won't let the kids play outside even if there's a hint of rain, her boots are safe from becoming mud ornage just yet.”
