Bama was #11 in the poll Dunadan mentioned. That's the top rated SEC school. I find it hard to believe that the SEC won't have a top 10 team.

Bama should be good next year. Replacing the heart of Pettway will be tough. Alabama has never retired the number of a basketball player. We probably haven't retired a football number either. The Tuscaloosa News had an article recommending that Pettways jersey #50 be retired. As it hangs from the rafters they said it should be displayed front side out with ALABAMA #50 displayed instead of backside out with his name. The reason is that's the only way he ever played the game.

So the Basketball hall of fame inducts an owner as a "contributer" (Jerry Colangelo), A European star Drazen Dalipagic, who most have never heard of and fails to induct College Coaches like Calhoun and Sutton?

I really think there ought to be an outcry and a boycott of the hall of Fame for their shortsightedness.

GA. Tech was out talented and out experienced. I think they did a good job getting as far as they did.

You have to give them credit considering they were picked to finish 8th in the ACC.

To get to the title game sure shows me intestinal fortitude.

No One could have beaten the Huskies on Monday night (or Tue night either for that matter)

Only Uconn could have beat Uconn.

After suffering as the doormat of the Big east in the pre Calhoun years, you have no idea how proud I am on the Huskies.

End of an Era at Stanford
According to the SF Chronicle (and others), the Golden State Warriors have fired their coach and hired Mike Montgomery. MM coached for 18 seasons at Stanford and got the team into the tournament the last 10 years in a row. No word yet on who they will find to replace him....

Dunadan,

Good job keeping Kaun away from Dook. UI scored a very solid big man for next year also - Shaun Pruitt.

So what's up with KU and Julian Wright (2005 class)? I've heard that they are no longer in the running for his services, just AZ, UI, and Depaul.

Dwight Howard should be good, but I would have taken Okafor with the #1 pick if I were Orlando.

Only 4 SEC teams in the top 25. If Bama's true frosh PG turns out to be as good as advertised we should be pretty good. All of the other 4 starters return. We lost our ex-walkon PG who was the life blood of the team. Talk about a leader. When the game was on the line, he took the shot. Antoine Pettway, you will be missed.

The top 5 should probably be in the top 5. You could make an argument for any of them being #1.

Well, maybe not UNC. They haven't lived up to their potential the last couple years. I don't know why people are sure that will change this year.

What I find interesting is Wake received more first place votes than Kansas but wound up #2. Must show the varing opinion of Wake.
