“Last night was a perfect example of why I can't stand watching basketball when I like one of the teams playing. I tuned in for the last 4 minutes or so of the first half and Stanford ends up up 12, holding UCLA to under 20 points! I went and did some stuff around the house, then came back and they were up 7 with about 18:00 left, then went up by 11 with 16:00 left. I turned it off and went to bed, reasoning that the last thing I wanted to have to sit through was a collapse, and if they went on to win, I wouldn't be missing anything. I was right. No shame in losing to the #3 team on their court, but still....


Most importantly, I'm headed to the dentist in a few minutes, and he played for UCLA back in the 70's. It sure woulda been great to walk in and tell him I hadn't heard the score of last night's game yet - how'd it turn out? Grrrr....”
