Looks as if we will again have a supreme sports god this year. Dayhiker has proven himself the king of chaos.

Better than 60% of the college bowls were upsets. The basketball tourney has been almost as crazy.

Florida beats Kansas during the regular season. Florida has an easy route to the elite eight and wins one game in the tournament. Kansas has one of the toughest routes in the tournament and ends up beating huge favorite, Arizona. Ya know, I ALMOST picked Marquette, Kansas, and Texas as my other final four teams. Yeah right! Any of you folks want to see my dog drive my car? I swear.... honest.

Congratulations, Dunadan. We may not know squat about picking, but at least your team is still playing strong.

What's your connection to Syracuse lizs? Didja go to school there or do you just like Orange? Rutgers beat them you know. In an alternate universe, we'd be in the final four.

I have arrived to claim my thrown. I saw the fear of my imminent deitiship back in March when only one TT'er had the rocks to come and hike in my domain. Because of that bravery, arky will not come in last place. That duty will fall to Dunadan. As Christ said, the last shall be first and the first shall be last. On Monday night, Dunadan will be awarded a NC ring. Since I came in first and the first shall be last, I get stuck with all of you for the next year!

All questions answered here!
Senor Arky. Ahh the rumors, they do fly fast and far, don't they? Roy will stay at Kansas. He has already turned down North Carolina, and will not do it again. He won't throw his hat into the ring this time. Al Bohl, KU's AD is like unto a pimple on the backside of Roy. If he doesn't like Al, he doesn't have to deal with him much at all. Roy walks on Potter's Lake to get across campus. Al looks up at him from the slimy bottom as Roy passes by.
Lizzy, Lizzy, Lizzy!!!!! Don't you know that Kirk Hinrich is from Iowa, also? Treat yourself this weekend and tune into their game against Marquette. You will get to see your two fellow Iowans lead us to victory. (I hope)

Gosh, if you change the name from Roy to Fran and change the handle from Dunadan to dayhiker this is the same conversation that took place at Bama. I hope yours turns out better than mine did.

What's up with the players at UNC? The coach cussed at me. Big friggin deal. Did any of you have coaches cuss at you in hs? Thought so.

I didn't know coaches knew how to speak without cussing. Are we now in a more sensitive time when a young inner-city kid with the tats and cornrows blushes when you say "darn"?

"And Dunny and Lizzy were good friends.... TILL the spectacle known as Final Four College Basketball tore them apart. Sad, sad days indeed."

As I see it, it's a choice between the crass materialism of the greedy Lizzy, and the pure and true love of the game displaye by the exemplary Dunadan. He gains nothing but the humble task of being an ambassador for the Jayhawks at all future TT hikes. Lizzy, on the other hand, will just sit on her ashtabula and watch soap operas with surround sound. (Which is OK since she isn't really a backpacker.)
Good luck to both teams. I think this one could be close.

So lizs gets a home entertainment system?

I'd like to repeat the fact that Rutgers beat Syracuse so we are the true NCAA champs.

I feel for ya, Dunny, I mean Dunadan. We now know that Dunny actually plays for Syracuse. Who'd have thought the death of KU would be at the hands of missing free throws and a short white boy in orange.

That would have been one spectacular comeback. When Langdon was running down the court on that fast break I was practically yelling "Get out of the way, Get out of the way" at the TV. What a stupid way to get your 5th foul. He brought so much energy to the game. In the little amount of time he was on the court he had almost 1/3 of KU's points. I thought the other key was the 5 point swing just before halftime where Hinrich was called for a charge and the bucket was tacket away. Short white boy comes down and nails a three. It was tough for me to watch and I kept thinking about Dunada. Tough breaks.
dayhiker

Yup, lizs gets a home entertainment system. hehehehe

$300-ish RCA surround sound deal. With a DVD/CD/VCR/MP3 player and like five speakers. Hell, I'll prolly need a new stinkin' TV to hook it up!!!

Sorry, Dunny. I almost feel guilty here. I didn't even watch any games of the NCAA tourney. (I left my heart, broken, with Iowa football last fall. Couldn't take THAT again!!)

I remained detached and never heard about games till after the fact. Lordy, this appears to be the way to do it. LOL! Also, I had gotten a CD/DVD player just before the tourney began. So that's the way it would go, I win something I already kind of have, although not to quite the extent of the prize.

Last night I was at a three-hour City Council meeting, followed by a good half hour with a Superintendent, following a School Board meeting where $220,000 in personnel cuts were made.

I had a fun night... NOT! (well, the City Council almost came to fisticuffs!!) Till I heard the final score.

LOLOLOLOL!! OK, so it does make me happy. I figure maybe I should go buy a lottery ticket now.

But I'd trade it in a second to have had Iowa's football bowl game win last fall. Waaaaaaah!!

Dunny, friends???
