To even START to get into decent pricing you will need to print at least 72 shirts 48 would be an absolute minimum. 144 is more like it but probably not feasable for this forum.

The good news is I can get wholesale prices.

Guess what everyone. All those $20 and up t-shirts y'all bought......not a single one has more than $5 involved in its creation including the garment. Those $35 concert shirts...even less, more like $3.

I made shirts a few years ago. There were green and had "thebackpacker.com" on the breast pocket and a on the back was a hiker shilhouette with a moon in the background. I wouldn't mind making shirts again, the worst part for me was actually mailing all the shirts out. That added a few bucks to the cost.

Matt: The good news is that you don't have to put up with getting them done.. You can give us permission, and we can get them done.

HPM: I am willing.. it's a lot of cash, but could front this if enough of us are interested.

Imahiker.com: NO.

not to mention shirt quality. If it is a cheap shirt, or a marginal print, well, I have a closet full of those at any time that eventually go to the Viet Nam Vets. I wanna wear it with PRIDE!

We discussed all this in several previous threads last year. Bacpac had an idea for the back: a pair of boot marks with the words "If you can read, this someone stole my backpack".That side would be printed in black and brown.

The front was going to be about a 4" diameter circle of the old yellow and black tt logo and "thebackpacker.com". I downloaded the old logo and got it camera ready. Now that we're in a mini mud season, I can get some accurate boot tread impressions to work from, set some type, and get the back camera ready.

I had sent a copy of the front art to cb many moons ago, as she was going to look into having them printed in TX - but then she went to CA and that's the last I heard.

I have about 300 4-color shirts printed up each year, my designs that I sell at our local aggie fair. On heavyweight cotton (Haines Beefy and similar) they run me about $6 a shirt - that's screens, shirts, and printing. I imagine 2-color/2-side wouldn't be much more, especially if we can order a similar quantity. Mailing shirts would probably run about a buck a shirt. So, if I can get 'em done, we're probably looking at about $8-9 a shirt with S&H.

I asked my screener to look into printing on Coolmax last summer when I got my shirts printed, but haven't heard from her yet. I'll give her a call tomorrow and get the ball rolling again.

Re colors: I get my shirts printed on white, whole wheat, ash grey, and "pina colada", a nice pale yellow. Used to get 'em done on darker colors, but I didn't like the way the white flashing felt (see previous posts for mention of flashing).

Anyway, if y'all are still interested in pursuing the old tt t-shirt idea, lemme know and I'll get on it. I'll let you know what I find out about Coolmax and silkscreening.

The "hand" id what you are referring to Steiny. They are using too much underprint and depositing too much ink on the garment. A condition known in the industry as "bulletproof".

I specialized in multicolor multiflash printing on dark and textured garments. You folks seen those photographic prints on black Ts? I was with one of the shops who pioneered that stuff back in the early 90s.

I want one too! But I don't wear t-shirts. Could you do women's tanks or babydolls? Or I could send you a shirt that fits.

My snowboarding jacket has a custom design(petroglyphs) on it. I sent it to the artist and she put the design on (this is my 2nd one). One time I stopped by her place, but everything was big on me. I bought one of her sweatshirts, and left the shirt I was wearing and she designed it for me.

Can I order a t-shirt with a picture of "Biz?" T-shirt, medium,

Mmmmmmm, maybe I could get one autographed. Probably cost extra.
