Question about websites

I finally had couple of seconds to put together a website for myself. It will be mainly about hiking, with some family thingys too. I have been thinking about putting together a section for my gear list. My question to you: Do you think that this is pretinacious? Are gear lists like bragging?

I have a little touch up on the site to do, then I will launch right after, maybe this weekend.

Thanks!

If you do a 'review' of WHY you like the gear.. then I think it wuld be awesome.

I agree with TD. If you are providing the list, along with reviews, or suggestions of necessary items and why you take them, then it's a good idea

I've done it, and mostly for my own use. What worked, what didn't, what I want to change in the future.

Hey, thanks you guys. I didn't want to look bad, that's why I asked. From what I have went through in hiking, I could write a 3" think book on what not to do!!

I look at personal sites as information resources for other hikers.

If you are going to tell me what gear you have tell me why you use it. I really want to know what you used and DIDN'T like and why.

Same thing with trip reports. Where exactly did you go and what exactly did you do. Detailed info helps others plan their own little adventures. One thing most folks leave out that I think is extremely important is when did you go. Things change out there and it's nice to see how the place looked in fall/winter/summer ect.

Nothing wrong with a gear list if it has an educational purpose.

Don't forget a link to "Phil's Pack Weight Estimator"

Reviews by everyday-joes not being paid are very helpful. Go ahead and brag while you're at it!
