i know besides how much will i use it. i do plan on carying a small wrist watch/ alarm i plan on gettin up at 3:30 in the morning and start hiking at 4:30 in the morning so i can get a nice head start and get my miles in with plenty of time to take in the sites.

a wrist watch alarm would have to slap me in the head to wake me up!!...no tent, frying pan, and waking at 3;30...is this a fun trip, or did you piss someone off?

I would do the opposite and start late and let everyone cook dinner so when you stroll into camp its time to eat. Works all the time! Then after dinner some hot chick will come along and help you set your tent up because its soooo dark and they feel bad for you....Wink..Wink

You`re not going to see much besides stars at that time of the morning. Just play it by ear and enjoy yourself, leave the watch at the house, or stuff it in your sack, getting away like that is so you can forget about time, even if it`s just for a few precious moments.

Oh, take a light weight tarp with you and a hunk of twine, they come in handy!
