granola
"4 c. uncooked oats
1/2 c. wheat germ( i used the honey rosted kind)
1 c. coconut (sweetend)
1 c.slivered almonds (i use choped)
1 c. sunflower seeds(unsalted)
1/2 c. honey ( i use way more)
1/2 c. brown sugar
3/4 c. canola oil
1 tsp vanilla ( or to taste i use a lot)
1 tsp cinnomon( again to taste)
1/2 tsp salt
1 cup raisons (i use home made ones)

Combine all ingredients in a large bowl, except raisons; mix well until combined. Spread in a shallow baking sheet and bake at 350 for 25 to 30 min. stir every 10 min. store in air tight container."

Pioneer bread

"1/2 C butter
1/2 C honey
3 eggs
1 C butter milk
2 C whole wheat flour
2 C unbleached flour
1 t baking soda
1 t salt
1 C raisins (organic store bought found at local health food store)
2 T carraway seeds

Combine butter, honey, and eggs in a bowl. Then add Butter milk. Seperatly, combine flours and baking soda. Then add salt, raisons, and caraway seeds. Combine both bowls. Place in a well greased loaf pan. Bake at 375 for 50 to 60 minutes or until done.

makes a dense loaf that weighs about 2 Lbs.

easy you dry mix the dumplins at home and add water and oil in camp

simmer 15 to 20 min with your soup or chili

Thats a pretty long simmer time after you've made the soup or chili. Dumplings are a great idea, though, for bread on the trail.

You know what would be cool? If you use the search at the bottom of the main TT page, you'll find a recipe thread. If you post all your recipes on that thread they'll be easier to find. As it is they are all spread around on other unrelated threads. Just a thought.
