Damn Beagle
As you may have read in another thread, on a recent dayhike I had a male beagle mark my pack. Birch reacted quickly and hosed my BRAND NEW pack off with water but it still smells like pee. I'm thinking off using an enzyme cleaner especially for pet urine. There aren't any warnings on the bottle and no cleaning instructions on the pack. What's your opinion on how I should clean my pack? It's yer typical nylon pack material. Thanks in advance for any advice you may offer.

I have used that enzyme cleaner on nylon material and webbing with no detrimental effects. The more you use and the longer you leave it on before rinsing it off, the better it will remove the offending odor. Sometimes you have to use it more than once before you get it completely.

Just live with it. You walk next to Birch, don't you? He's as stinky as they come.

You should test it, though, to be sure it doesn't affect any waterproofing on the pack (if there is any). I've never had it change the color but you will probably want to make sure of that first, too.

Seeing as it was a dog you can probably wash it off.

If it was a cat you'd have to shoot the pack.

Always use the proper tool for the job
What she is talking about is specifically designed to remove the urine that is causing the odor. It works, and it works better on urine than anything else, barring brand differences.

Nature's Miracle. Pick it up in any pet store. Works wonders on anything organic, even urine and cat puke.

She's hired!

Generally, the cat who hasn't puked cleans it up, depending on what it is. (EEeewwwww!)

It's about time that dog got herself a job. She needs to start earning her keep around here.

Ah, there is no income. But the rewards are great. Warm, regurgitated cat food. Some hair mixed in. Quite the treat for a dog. :) Oh, plus, she can harass the little grey monster. He needs someone to pick on him anyway.
