Ok, here's the latest date proposal:

“Could probably be on the trail by about 1 PM on Friday. Can hike 'til it's done sometime on Monday. My preference would be to start where we ended up last trip (Manor Fork Rd between parking and Pine Hollow Rd) and head north - counterclockwise - to end back up at Route 44 across from Big Trail Rd.”

“Put me in the "Probably Going" box. Either Friday-Sunday or Saturday- Monday (not certain which one yet).”

“I'm with Steiny on his suggestion to continue from where we left off last Fall.

People starting out at different times on Friday can hike from the same (Pumphouse) parking area off Route 44 and meet at Foster Hollow Pond (mile 39.50) near a hunting camp, where there are two good size campsites with an excellent spring. Open areas next to the pond are great for stargazing (if the nighttime sky is clear enough). Might also hear Spring peepers serenading at the pond.

Saturday's trek from Foster Hollow Pond passes some excellent vistas (mile 40.67, and also along the climb out of Slate Run). People who start out on Saturday could hook up with the others late Saturday morning at the BFT start (near Slate Run -- roadside parking there). Saturday night campsite could be at or near the Red Run-Morris Run-Slate Run areas (near mile 7.20) ...or if the Saturday trekkers are feeling up to it, they can huff & puff to the top of Chestnut Ridge where there's another nice, large campsite at mile 9.96.

From there, the BFT is easy trekking along level terrain to Route 44, followed by a gentle downhill along County Line Branch. Campsites for Sunday night (and Monday night?) are negotiable, with several options depending upon distance traveled.

There are parking areas at several locations with access to side trails, x-country ski trails, and jeep trails, to allow anyone to hook up with the rest of the crew - or bail out - on any day at just about any time.

If I had my druthers (and my druthers are always changing), I'd leave home Friday around 6am. It's about 180 miles from Easton so perhaps the people doing the entire loop could plan to hit the trail by
9:30? We could park at one of the places on 44 that would fit into meeting the others (Steiny and MSilver) who are starting a bit later where they left off last year.

I'd like to finish sometime Monday and avoid taking another vacation day on Tues but I'll leave it open.

“I'm still in. I too got a map from Pinecreek Outfitters like Splash did so I can meet up with the group. It's a convoluted map to say the least, but the trail looks pretty interesting!”

April is far down the road and it's only February, so I'm still in winter mode (snow, ice, fleece, gloves, handkerchiefs for blowing the nose, taxes, etc). Can't think clearly too far in advance, though I did put in for that Friday off from work. But not to worry... if I don't make it, Pennsy's pretty slick with cameras.

I am aware of the talents of the Pennsey Hiker, as I visited his web site. I even downloaded a pic of a bobcat that is wallpaper on my comp.Gee, I hope he dosn't try to charge me for it. Ooops.
