John Muir Trail “I am looking for someone interested in backpacking the John Muir Trail this summer, 2002. I plan to hike about 17 miles each day and take about 2 weeks to finish.” 1:43:12 PM 1/16/02 “I hiked last year in 16 days...Here's some free advice...Keep your pack weight below 25 lbs...Bring lots of fats...salami..margarine..Layover 1 day at Vermillion and 1 at Mammoth. Cut your mileage back to between 12-15 miles per day.
