Attention Blue Grass Fans

“Friend of mine just informed me that The Spirit of the Suwannee Park is having another great Bluegrass Festival, SuwanneeFest. Doc Watson, Tony Rice, Vasser Clemmons, Peter Rowan, John Cowan(Used to be w/ New Grass Revival)...and many others....Nuff Said. It all takes place the weekend of March 3, 2002.

Spirit of the Suwannee is right on the Beautiful Suwannee River. They have a small indoor stage for close-up pickin' and an outdoor amphitheater where the main action takes place. They have lots of car-campsites. There is a Canoe Outpost located there which rents canoes and kayaks, and runs shuttle service up and down the river. Camping along the river is a real possibility, as are day trips. The Florida Scenic Trail runs along the river for about 20 miles at that point.

If anyone would like to go, I'd be more than happy to play host. I plan on being out there with my kayak.”

Thanks Lyra for the info about Snoop's song. When my buddy and I first arrived at Phishs' NYE concert in Big Cypruss, we heard that song and set out to find who was playing it, to no avail. Heard it a number of times prior to that and NOONE knew who did it.”

“Yep this bad boy is in Florida. Spirit of the Suwannee Park is on Highway 129 as it crosses the Suwannee River, north of I-10, and Live Oak, Florida. Highway 129 runs north and south, about 10 miles west of where I-10 and I-75 cross. Or, directly west of Jacksonville for the unwashed heathen who are not familiar with Florida.”

This has turned out to be my favorite station in Knoxville. They have a low broadcast power, so I can't get it here in Townsend on the radio, but they are now streaming music.”
