Newfound Gap Road is Open!

I called the backcountry office a little while ago and they said that Newfound Gap will be open later this afternoon. I'm a little worried because tomorrow at least in the lower elevations it is suppose to rain quite a bit. That's gonna suck getting drenched and then getting into higher elavation where is freezing cold. I'm gonna die

I'm defiently interested. But I'm going on this trip this weekend and that's awlful soon. I got a 14 month old son at home hate to leave him know what I mean. Don't count me out yet though

I hope you're right. I'm heading up next Friday and it would be nice to have the go high option if its too wet lower. I think we're planning to head out of Cades Cove area and do a loop. Best of luck, take your gaiters.
