“Hey whats going on fellow TT'ers?Well my weekend was great.Me and SB had a blast.We did about 15 miles and we went to patton cave and did lots of exploring.So did everyone else have a great weekend?”

“Me and the fam. went ice skating on Saturday (my second time - doing okay).

Today I was lazy all day and did nothing. Well, I did snow blow the driveway. It's a big driveway and a big snow blower - decent exercise. Plus I had to do some of the back yard so we can get out to the horse (damn thing is always wanting to eat).

That's about it. Was hoping to do a 5 mile walk with the dog, but I get nervous taking a walk right after a snow plow (small roads + big snow plows = bad).”

“I was fighting a cold Saturday and today. I'm feeling better though. I met my brother and a couple of other friends and we hit REI & Blue Ridge Mountain Sports today.

Wish me luck in knocking out the rest of this cold. Got a 4 dayer at LBL this comming weekend.”

“Went backpacking this weekend in the HNF with a "backpackaholic" . . . "its crazy mike" . . . and the crazy really fits . . . crazy bout backpacking that is!

We had a great time! There was a nice dusting of close to 2" of snow to enhance the scenery along trails that followed mostly along ridgelines and occasionally dipped down into the valleys below, where we encountered many stream crossings.

. . . and if your're ever hiking through the HNF and see someone come swinging through the trees at you . . . on a vine . . . its crazy mike! LOL!”

Me and a couple of guys I ran into sat in a bar waiting for the lifts to open again :)

Today was a GREAT day on the slopes! Started at 8:20am and didn't stoop til 3:55pm. (skipped lunch). Ran into several friends during the day, so I always had someone to ride with. The wind blown snow was great, and the rides were awesome on top!

Met up with some friends and camped out last night. Fun weekend!

“Hey RL - the Deam Wilderness is approx 3-1/2 to 4 hrs from my doorstep to the trailhead . . . depending on what kind of a law abiding mood that I'm in on the way down. But my route (US 31) includes what I believe to be about a thousand traffic lights through Kokomo and just north of Indy. Yuk! Not sure of the exact mileage.

If ya decide to invade this "Hoosier Hikin' Haven" better let one the "Hoosier Gang" give some tips on when to go/not to go. The horse traffic can create quite a muddy quagmire at times.

. . . and better yet just let me know and I'll go along if possible. If I can't go, I do know someone who goes backpacking EVERY WEEKEND that would go! . . . its crazy mike!”

“Snowboarding again....supposed to be in the mid 50s. Lost a foot of snow in the last week, 7-8' base now.

My business manager & his g/f will be there to snowboard for the first time, so we'll meet up Saturday.”

Supposed to rain heavily tomorrow, which is something we need (just got drought restrictions for the county). So I guess tomorrow I'll have to finish some overdue chores. Its a 1st grade soccer game today, high school hockey state tourney starts tomorrow night.

“Ha! I talked my stepmother into heading to EMS in Somerville with me after helping move stuff. Small store but they do rent snowshoes and really cold weather bags for pretty reasonable prices. Next time someone offers a trip to the Cats or Dacks involving single digit weather, I'll be ready! (Assuming I don't have family obligations...yeah that will happen, someday).”

“Renting is a good idea--I have not gone on a couple of trips because my warmest bag is rated for 20 degrees. I'll have to keep that in mind and find out what is available locally.”

“Got in a 3.5 hour hike yesterday, hope to do the same today. Found a fantastic overnight spot. Trailhead is 15 minutes from work or home, 2.5 hours into the Sandia Mountain Wilderness.

I hope to get in a similar hike this afternoon.”

“Got in 2.5 hours this afternoon. Climbed from about 6500ft to 8200ft or so and back. Could have used crampons for the top half! No bag night, but some trail time this weekend.”

“Got a couple of people from work on snowboards this weekend. She borrowed my butt pads but still got bruised up. He did great and was making "S" turns on intermediate runs. They're coming back in 2 weeks to do it again!
