I have tried the jello instant pudding, and must say , it's not bad. I mixed the powdered milk and
pudding mix together in a ziplock
bag. On the trail you just add water, stir, and wait about 10 minutes.

Here you go Maple Leaf!
One I tried this past weekend and was surprised how well it rehydrated:

Meatless Chili Mac

1T olive oil
1 large onion, diced (1C)
1 medium green pepper, diced (1C)
1 (or more) clove/s garlic, minced
1 can chili beans (rinsed/drained)
1 can great northern beans(rinsed/drained)
1(14.5 oz) can diced tomatoes, undrained
1 (8oz) can tomato sauce
4t chili powder
1 tsp ground cumin
1 tsp salt
2C water
2C macaroni elbows or other pasta

In a dutch oven or skillet with lid, heat oil over medium heat, add garlic, onion, pepper and cook until tender. Add remaining ingredients and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low, cover and simmer for 15 minutes or until pasta is done, stirring occasionally. Yields 8 1/2 Cups

Spread on fruit roll up tray (after it cools) and dehydrate overnight. Package in ziplock and add water to bag to rehydrate. Allow to sit for an hour or so. It wasn't just like at home, the tomato sauce was in bitty pieces, but it was tasty and filling. We ate it with torengos, yum.

BTW, the above recipe was off the back of a barilla elbows box (gotta give credit where credit's due..)

BTW Maple leaf, if you type recipes in the search box you'll get a few more threads. The "Veggie recipe" thread Nigal started has some good ones.

I found a new site recently – PackitGourmet.com http://www.packitgourmet.com So far, I’ve placed one order and I’ve been very happy. I got the migas, tortilla soup, chicken salad and gumbo. They were all delicious, much better than any of the other commercial meals that I’ve tried! Plus they shipped really quickly.

Sarbar has a bunch of reviews posted in her blog if you’d like to check them out. http://freezerbagcooking.com/myblog.htm
