Where the hell is January weather?

This is just me personally, but I get really ticked when I hear the weathermen (and women) on TV say "Oh, it's going to be another really nice day tomorrow!" because the temperatures are 15 degrees above normal. As weather people, shouldn't they have a greater sense of urgency of what's possibly at hand?! I know, I know, most people don't care and just want the warm weather, and the weather folks are just playing to that... But if what many of the scientists are saying about global warming turns out to be true, these nice warm days will eventually lead to mass destruction. Kind of ironic, I think! I realize the long-term predictions could be wrong, and more evidence is needed, but still...”

“I read this week that some areas of the polar ice caps that had been melting were now refreezing and growing.

Here in the Great Lakes, everyone is worried because water levels are "low". But in reality, they are still higher than they were early in the 1900s.

I think that the issue of "global warming" is too complex for broad generalization. And it is lazy to make a connection between a local bit of weather and climate trends.

I have four questions:

Is global warming happening? I've read that there is some evidence of this.

If global warming is happening, is it different than normal climate fluctuations? I don't know. We still are coming out of an ice age.

Are humans at fault? Complex question.

Is there anything we can do? Again, complex.

I have no reason to doubt scientists who are worried about global warming. But we can't run around like chickens with our heads cut off. I, personally, think that the world will survive, albeit a few miles inland.”

“I wouldn't mind moving a few miles inland, as long as it didn't keep getting hotter. But it is. Also the scientific consensus is that humans are significant contributors to accelerating global warming.

Whether there is anything we can realistically do to slow it, I have doubts.

I'd much rather see a return to an ice age than continued warming.”

“Lurker - good point. But it's something that most be monitored (at least I think so). I remember hearing about green house theories in the 70's. However, in the 1990's the first possible clues that it might be happening on a widespread basis surfaced for the first time (multiple records for warmest years during the decade).

I heard about the polar ice caps refreezing also, and also have read reports that several signs are pointing to the big ozone hole over Antartica closing.

Several climatologists also believe that smaller warming trends have a way of correcting themselves (e.g. more water evaporates, therefore more cloud cover and cooler temps).

Obviously a lot is up in the air, but it's important to monitor, and interesting to follow.”

Some say the rain is BEING TURNED ON and OFF by an irritated and vengeful G_d. In reality, however, it is Man who is playing G_d and doing the dirty work. None of this is ILLUSORY or ACCIDENTAL, for there is POWERFUL and COMPELLING EVIDENCE that the BIZARRE WEATHER patterns of recent years have been - to a very large degree - ENGINEERED, CONTROLLED, and INFLUENCED by BOTH the RUSSIAN and AMERICAN governments. To those of you familiar with the work of the SUPERMIND OF NIKOLA TESLA, the following will not come as much of a surprise.

On the Fourth of July, 1976, the former Soviet Union began broadcasting huge, PULSED ELECTROMAGNETIC FIELDS from three gigantic 40-million watt transmitters which beamed those signals HALFWAY AROUND THE WORLD to the U.S. This electronic assault DISRUPTED AND JAMMED radio and television broadcast signals, enraged the FCC, and irritated ham radio operators, who quickly dubbed the signals 'The Russian Woodpecker,' because of their PULSED CADENCE.

To date, the Russians have completed nearly 30 of the HUGE TRANSMITTERS which emit signals primarily in the VERY DANGEROUS 10-Hertz range, otherwise known as Extreme Low Frequency (ELF). These 'Tesla' transmitters create massive 'standing' ELF waves that form MAJOR HIGH PRESSURE 'blocking systems' that change the normal high altitude jet stream pattern, FORCE IT TO THE NORTH, and actually retard the normal flow patterns of incoming weather systems. It has been CONSISTENTLY NOTED that variance of the ELF transmissions leads to a subsequent change in the route of the jet stream flow in the Northern Hemisphere within 72 hours.

The Soviets TURNED OFF their ELF Woodpecker signal for a brief period in 1980: "During the two-week lull, the Northern Hemisphere's jet stream was NORMAL. With the return of the Soviet ELF transmissions, the jet stream was DEFLECTED AGAIN by a persistent high-pressure ridge extending from the Yukon to Arizona.

Does the U.S. government have ITS OWN series of ELF/microwave transmitters? You bet. Can ELF be used to do more than ENGINEER and INFLUENCE just the weather (like human beings, for example)?
