Flip Side from the Rocky Top
2 Things:

1) We've all read what didn't work out. What are your BEST gear purchases?
2) I'm new to the site...who hails from the Volunteer state?

There's getting to be a pretty big bunch on TT from Tennessee. They'll all chime in by tommorrow afternoon.

As to question #1,

Pur Hiker water filter, 0 degree Down bag, Z-Rest pad, Esbit stove, Camelbac Hydration System, Kelty Tempest pack, & a Nylon Tarp.

I'm just really confuzzled over why they discountinued mine shortly after i bought it. it has the awesome compression technology..a great frame/sheet system. The gopherhole..it's top loading and front loading (big plus for me). floating lid/daypack...perfect size for weekend/week trips..i just don't get it
