Ain't Life Grand?

“It’s just one of those days, ya know? It’s in the forties, the sun is shining, and I’m a happy boy 8). It’s one of those days when you put your camera, a few Cliff Bars and some water in your fanny pack and tell the world to bugger off for a while. I like to call them “Calgon Hikes” cause they take you away from life and it’s demands. I left straight from work and went to one of my favorite places to hike and I instantly found my hiking legs and my simple fettered mind was set free at once. I LOVE these hikes where you forget what you had done the whole morning before you started hiking and sometimes even what day of the week it is.

It’s one of those hikes when the most pressing thing you have to think about is what hikes you want to do this summer and with whom, or when you think up the coolest thing to make for hiking. There is nothing better for the hiker’s sole than a beautiful day on the trail when you can set you mind and your body free from the world!

Gonzo, I took my hike at A href="http://www.glenhelen.org/"> Glen Helen in Yellow Springs. It is such a great place to hike because it's connected to Clifton Gorge and you can hike pretty much all day. The history of the area as well as the geology is awesome.”

“Are those hieroglyphics on the bridge?”

“Yes, it seams it is a favorite hangout of the local young people. I found many notes written on the bridge by someone with the initials GWM who was looking for partners, I guessed to hike with. One note said he'd be there at 10 AM on the very day I happened by and would be wearing an Idigo Girls shirt and they were ready for fun. I hung around for a while but he failed to show. Oh well, maybe next time!”
