Like the flu or food poisoning. Calling in a chopper is not an option.

You mean runningdude don't you?

I always take Immodium with me. Thankfully, I've never had to use it out there but it has helped a couple of my hiking partners.

I got the flu on the trail once. Well, I probably had it coming on the first day and had full blown symptoms on the second day. It was the winter and the temps were below zero and I had a high fever. We got off the trail and found a small picnic area and my friend got a ride back to the trailhead to get the car and pick me up. It ruined the trip, but I'm glad I wasn't out solo.
