Logging trips- which software?
What software do you use to log your hiking trips? I'd like something that allows me to enter in the miles, locations, and add some notes and pictures.

I could create an HTML template to do this, and I probably will for stuff I post on the web, but I'd also like something to keep offline.

I use a Suunto Vector to log the Date of Hike, Hiking Time, Total Ascent, Total Decent, then enter the data into an Excel program and stating where the hike was and who I hiked with.

I use to use Delorme Topo, but the programs have become too demanding for my old processor and I can't enter in GPS data and tweak it anymore.

There are other threads that discuss this topic, so I suggest you do search to compliment those who will soon give their imput.

I use an older program called a journal. By using the feature called paper clip or tape I can attach pictures. It does have a limited amount of memory though and sometimes I have to log on to it during the hike to really capture the moment in words. I really like the portability of the journal program, I can take it anywhere and make it work with no power source. And it is compatible with almost anyones drive, as long as I have selected a readable font.
Other than that, Excel works great too.
