Where are all the old regulars TT'ers?

I remember the good old days when you would post a message and someone would 'steal' your 'Id' and start posting insults and lies in your name. There was no way to defend or deny that the words were not coming from your keyboard.

There is still probably the same percentage of trip reports, trip anouncements, gear questions, food suggestions, attempts to piss someone (anyone) off, totally off topic threads, etc as there ever was (yes, I remember that mythical time Before Logins). People post when they feel like it, and stop when they feel like it. TT is a result of whomever is posting that particular day.

I agree with the people who have basically said that you can only comment on a particular piece of gear or political stand so many times before it gets old. The postings are pretty much the same, some of the posters have changed. We miss our friends but let's face it, it is a virtual world. Some of us have met and established real friendships outside TT - those are likely to endure.”

Just as many have said, most the threads are redundant with little serious discussion/bantering. The gun/religious/dog talks were fun then, and I learned allot from others with very differing views, but somethings missing for me, whether it be the great characters, my available time, the loose user format, newness of threads,or all the above. Oh well, good to see some old names still checking in occasionally. I'm still backpacking and will check in occassionaly for anything happening in N. Calif.”

Lots changes when ya ain't around. Isn't there a song by the Eagles that sum's it up... "There's a new kid in town"?

Well, I merely lurk from time to time. I did go hiking last Monday, but it was just a day hike in the foothills of the Sierra's. And then there was a wet ocean hike with Strider in the beginning of January. Awesome!

I may not hang around much, but still have great friends and some pretty big belly laughs from this place.

Remember the Gentle Ben, Idiot BoB, and some of the other crazies? How about the wild Ponies at Mt. Rogers? The Flat My Ass trip in SC? And all the other great trips that have occurred because of this place!

I don't get to the 'puter that much anymore. Too busy saving america or something like that. Higher level job makes time scarce, but I will say I miss the craziness of this place.

Who could forget the Lime Jello Thread? There's even a thread out there where I shared a little to much about.... Well, let's let it rest in peace.
